Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Fravel.
Hi Brandon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Run Free Running Club started back in 2017 as just a club for me and wife to meet fellow runners in Camarillo CA. During this time frame I had a corporate job in the fashion industry as a merchandiser. I didn’t put much effort into the club due to my hectic travel schedule. As I approached the end of 2018, a close friend told me she had a great feeling about me turning the club to a business and within one week I made the leap to do that as well as quit my corporate job.
I put all my eggs in the basket and focused on something that brought me more joy and happiness in my life. I became a certified personal trainer and running coach right away. The business was slowing growing and clientele was building from word of mouth. I started to incorporate something different in my coaching adding spirituality and mindset training.
In 2019, I went to a different type of school to help infuse that spiritual side of the business. I started to learn more about energy healing, breath work, meditations at the Newmont Center. From there I gain a new sense of direction within my coaching which has been a gift to my clients.
It’s 2025, Run Free is still building something amazing. We have big plans in the future but at this moment we are in ah with gratitude and appreciation.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wish! When I started the business, the hardest part was building a sense of who I am as a coach and trainer. I felt like I didn’t have the content to build my image. When Covid came, everything was shutdown and it was difficult to build clients especially when you couldn’t meet in person. Zoom was the best option which was great, but that didn’t last long.
I was very fortunate to have the support from my wife to not give up and to figure out new ways of helping people. As social media outlets grew, I did what I can to post more often to help showcase the type of trainer/coach I was. The biggest struggle I had to be honest was the confidence within myself and the business. I never spoke about it really with my wife, but she knew. Her intuition was spot on.
There will always be struggles in the business, but it’s the mindset that helps you changes those struggles into success stories.
We’ve been impressed with Run Free Running Club, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Run Free is more than a running club, it’s a movement built around connection, purpose and helping people step into the strongest version of themselves.
I’m a running coach and personal trainer who specializes in endurance coaching, strength training and spiritual mindset work. I combine science-based training with intuitive guidance to help athletes not only run faster and stronger, but feel more aligned and confident in every area of their lives.
What really sets us apart is our community. Run Free has become a family, a place where runners of all levels show up, feel supported and are reminded that they belong. Whether someone is training for their first 5K, their first 100K or just wants to move their body and clear their mind, we meet them where they’re at.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the culture we’ve created: a space where people feel seen, encouraged and inspired to rise mentally, physically and spiritually. Between our weekly group runs, trail events, coaching services and our podcast Dig Deep w/ Adi & Coach B, everything we build is rooted in intention and authenticity. Nothing about Run Free is forced. It’s organic, heart-led and built from real relationships.
At Run Free, we offer personalized run coaching, strength and conditioning programs, speed and agility training for youth athletes and an uplifting community through group runs and events. We’re here to help people train smarter, believe harder and tap into something deeper because running is more than miles. It’s a way to discover who you are.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this: Run Free is here to uplift you. To challenge you. To help you grow. To remind you that you’re capable of greatness on the trails, on the road and in life.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me, collaborate with me or support Run Free in a lot of meaningful ways all centered around community, growth and creating impact together.
1. Coaching & Training
I offer personalized run coaching, strength training and endurance programming for athletes of all levels. Whether someone is training for their first race or looking to unlock their next level, I build customized plans, provide technique guidance and support them mentally and spiritually throughout the journey.
2. Run Free Community Events
Our weekly group runs, trail adventures and community meetups are open to everyone. The best way to support the brand is to show up, bring good energy and share the experience with others. Every new face adds something special.
3. Collaborations & Partnerships
I love collaborating with local businesses, creators and athletes who share a passion for movement, wellness, mindset and community. Whether it’s joint events, workshops, brand partnerships or content creation, I’m always open to working with people who want to inspire others.
4. Supporting the Run Free Brand
People can support by repping our merch, listening to the Dig Deep w/ Adi & Coach B podcast and sharing our message online. Every post, story or shout out helps amplify what we’re doing and spreads the energy that makes this community so unique.
5. Volunteering & Giving Back
We often help at aid stations and community-focused events. Anyone who wants to contribute or get involved is always welcome.
At the end of the day, Run Free is built on connection. Whether you work with me as a coach, collaborate on a project or simply show up to a Wednesday night run, you’re part of something bigger, a community that lifts each other up and inspires every person to become their best self.
