Hi Bauer, Eleanor, and Rupa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
GEST, short for inGEST, was formed by three best friends on a mission to create thoughtful supplements that are effective, easy, and delicious.
Working closely with formulators and early users, we created SKINMUNE SIPS, a liquid supplement developed to target skin and immunity. The first formula of its kind, these daily SIPS aim to provide supple, plump, hydrated skin.
Before creating GEST, three of us attempted clean diets and bought nearly half of the product catalogs at Sephora and GNC; and of course, ventured into the realm of chalky, powdery skin supplements, all in pursuit of wellness.
Supplements really do suck, we thought. But, our minds changed when we learned to ignore false marketing and focus on studying the science and education behind the supplements. That’s why we are excited about SKINMUNE SIPS, which is highly effective and incredibly easy to sip and consume on the go.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Starting a business, let alone starting one during the pandemic was full of bumps to say the least. When we started approaching food scientists and formulators, it wasn’t easy to get them onboard with our vision to redefine what supplements could be. Typically labs expect you to pick one of the many thousands of existing formulas and white label the products. However, we were committed to creating the supplements of our dreams, one that was delicious, easy and most importantly, ultra-effective. This required formulators to be willing to work very closely with us over the course of many months. A collaboration to truly start from scratch with sourcing ingredients, reimagining the formula, form factor and even packaging. Coming in as a team of self-funded, first-time female founders, it required us to bring our passion and persuasion to the meeting room over multiple rounds of discussion to finally convince the right people to pitch in their time and expertise.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As a business, we truly stand with our customers to co-create together. For us, GEST represents the culmination of everyone’s desire to tackle an industry mired with fluffy, ineffective products.
