Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Greene
Hi Ashley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My mom is a hairdresser and salon owner, so I grew up in the salon and developed a passion for the beauty industry early on. When I started working I was fortunate enough to get to exposed to the business side of beauty. In my early twenties I assisted Angus Mitchell, one of the co-owners of John Paul Mitchell Systems and my passion for beauty grew even further. During that time I was also diagnosed with lupus, which prompted me to embark on a mission to promote both internal and external wellness. My love for long nails and soft skin led me to create our patented flagship product, the exfoliating bath glove, designed specifically for women with long nails. Our product enables our clients to achieve supple, smooth skin without compromising their manicures.
I believe that washing your body with your own hands has a spiritual benefit, and our products enable users to connect with and awaken their light within, With a focus on a holistic approach to beauty, Bare Bodhi is committed to promoting self-awareness and enabling individuals to serve their highest good.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I made the decision to start the business right before the world shut down for a global pandemic, so our business has had its fair share of challenges. Our funding fell through, promises were not delivered, we had supply chain issues, but ultimately I have an unwavering commitment to the brand ethos and believe that our brand has a unique position in the market that has yet to be filled. I continue to be inspired to empower and uplift people and encourage individuals to embrace their inner beauty.
As you know, we’re big fans of Bare Bodhi. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Bare Bodhi, we believe every shower is a ritual—an opportunity to nourish the body, awaken the spirit, and reconnect with your inner light. Inspired by the meaning of ‘Bodhi’—awakening—our products are thoughtfully designed to elevate your self-care experience.
We love soft, radiant skin just as much as we love a fresh manicure. That’s why we created our signature fingerless exfoliating glove—so you never have to choose between the two. We know manicures are an investment, and we’re here to help you protect them.
With Bare Bodhi, say goodbye to dulled topcoats and brittle nails, and hello to glowing, supple skin—effortlessly.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
For founders just starting out, one of the most valuable things you can do is test the market before your official launch. Ensuring your product resonates with your audience and gathering feedback early allows you to refine both your offering and your strategy before going into full production.
Equally important is having a firm grasp on your budget—understanding your cost per customer acquisition from the outset will help you make more informed decisions and avoid financial surprises.
I also encourage founders to explore B2B opportunities, as offloading larger quantities of product at once can provide crucial cash flow and stability in the early stages.
Finally, don’t underestimate the power of community. Building anticipation through social media and cultivating an engaged audience before launch can create a loyal customer base that will champion your brand from day one.
