Hi April, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I began my career in the late 90s working for a matchmaking service. There weren’t a lot of matchmakers in the industry at that time, which made it both a challenging and rewarding journey to create everything from the ground up.
From the perspective of a businesswoman who’s been at this for nearly 25 years, I can say that those early days gave me the tenacity, creativity, and work ethic that has enabled me to persevere and succeed.
I’ve always been personally involved in my business, so I’ve been able to quickly recognize the shifts in the dating landscape and use my knowledge to predict trends and pivot when necessary.
I’m loving the work I’m doing as a keynote speaker on the topics of connection, communication, and relatability. All of the skills that help people find love also help us to become better leaders and create more productive and happy work environments.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Business is never a smooth road! I don’t think any entrepreneur would tell you that. It’s what makes it so exciting!
Covid was a tough time for so many businesses, and the matchmaking industry was no different.
Singles were facing tremendous loneliness and isolation, and we weren’t able to make introductions when the pandemic began.
In-person dates became Zoom dates, but people needed to be taught what to do!
I led courses on creating connections in our distanced and remote world and saw that time as an opportunity to help people redefine their goals and values.
I have always self-funded every aspect of my business, which doesn’t make life easy.
But, in doing so, I have had full control of my career and the freedom to shift when needed. So, I guess I would say that my struggles have given me my greatest strengths. I think that’s true for so many people. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
LEVEL Connections is a modern, personal matchmaking and relationship consulting firm. I specialize in working with some of the most successful, eligible men in Los Angeles who are seeking their life partner, the woman of their dreams.
I’m known for my holistic, direct, and caring approach which helps my clients with the delicate balance of work, life, and love. When you’re focused on helping someone find love, you also have to look at all aspects of their lives which includes career, friends, family, and how they all must work together for ultimate success.
What sets me apart from other matchmakers is my two decades of experience, keen intuition, insatiable curiosity, and my ability to problem-solve, assess situations quickly, see behavioral patterns, and head off problems before they arise.
I’m most proud of developing my own proprietary profile and matching process. It’s a compatibility algorithm I created from my vast experience of bringing thousands of couples together.
It serves to support and streamline my workflow which allows me to be much more effective and efficient for my clients.
It’s been likened to “The Myers Briggs for the Heart” as it covers 10 categories of compatibility. I love the feedback we receive after women complete their profiles and self-guided interviews. It’s not only the foundation for how we search for matches, but it also serves as a teaching tool. As you go through the profile journey, you’re going to learn a lot about yourself.
The technology doesn’t replace me; it serves as a guide and has enabled me to standardize my process. I’m bringing this incredible platform to matchmakers all over the country. This year. It’s very exciting!

What were you like growing up?
I was a creative little girl. I would spend hours in my bedroom after dinner, which always worried my parents. I was social at school, but at night, I saw my room as a quiet place to dream and create. I wrote original plays and music. I was fascinated by psychology and character study. I had endless notebooks filled with ideas and thoughts.
In school, I was kind, compassionate, insatiably curious, a good girl, stubborn, and a fierce protector of anyone who was being bullied.
I asked “why” A LOT, which drove my teachers crazy! Funny enough, that same persistence of needing to know everything is why I’m successful today in creating lasting relationships for my clients.
