Hidden Gems: Meet Ali Salomi of Red Label Enterprises

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Salomi.

Hi Ali, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a young kid, I always wanted to be a business owner. I wanted to provide a product or service to others and be able to lead. After I graduated high school, I started going to college because that was what my parent’s wanted of me, but my true passion was to start a business.

During my first year in college when I was 18 years old, I started working for my cousin who had a plumbing business. He wasn’t looking for an employee and I was looking for an opportunity. I made sure that he knew that he doesn’t have to pay me, I just wanted to be mentored and to grow. He agreed and my foundation for business started there. That same year, I started my first business. It was an online social networking site and it became an instant success. Having success that early in my business career was a blessing and a curse at the same time. Because I came from an upbringing of not having money, making money that quickly made me question why my family didn’t have money if it was that easy to be a success. However, once I moved on from my first business because I wanted to do bigger things, I quickly learned that business is really hard and within a few months, I lost everything I had saved up, all because my second business was a failure.

I quickly learned that even though failures cost a lot, they also taught me a lot. I learned that problems happen for me and not to me, and I just needed to make sure I learned the lesson in each failure. These early lessons helped me a lot going forward. I was no longer scared of failures and learned that the odds were for me in business. If you have a bunch of failures in business and the last one is a success, you will be considered a successful business owner. With odds like these, I knew that I was destined to be successful.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road and that is the way I like it because you can’t climb a smooth mountain.

There have been a lot of struggles that have lead to a lot of growth along the way. Everyday in business you encounter big and small problems. Problems that are big today will look small tomorrow once they are solved. Problems from audits and lawsuits to outgrowing an office space and needing to move immediately seem extremely big at the time. However, once you go through them, you no longer fear the unknown and understand that it is just part of the business process. It all comes down to fear and faith. Fearing something is allowing your imagination to wander off undirected, whereas having faith in something is allowing your imagination to be directed. Once you go through experiences and problems, your faith in yourself strengthens.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Red Label Enterprises?
Red Label Enterprises started in 2004 and we specialize in marketing for companies who are looking for customer acquisitions through in person direct marketing. We have mastered marketing systems that we apply to each campaign uniquely to make sure the maximum results are obtained.

What sets us apart from others is that we make our employees the most important part of our business. By concentrating and making sure each one of our employees is growing and happy, we guarantee that our clients will see the best results. Instead of “wining and dining” our clients, we “wine and dine” our employees as they are the most important part of our business. Without their growth and happiness, we wouldn’t be able to be where we are.

We are most proud as a brand to have offered so many people jobs through the years and seeing how much success people have had. The growth of others has become our growth and that drives our happiness as a company.

How do you think about happiness?
I have found that happiness comes from growth. Any area of my life that I am not happy about, it is because I am not growing in that area. However, what throws a conundrum to this equation, is that in order to grow, you need to have joy. Without joy, you will not be able to grow. One can even dive deeper into what growth actually is. I believe that growth is our perception of how life should be in the very moment of our life, and getting closer to that perception is growth.
