Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Corzo.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my studies in Journalism in Colombia ,then I specialized in Digital Journalism. I decided to move to La in 2014 and inmediatelly I started running my passion for photography, so I decided to get my certificate, Then was when I attended LA Cyty College and Mission college where i got those certificates in Digital Photography and Video production. after that, I opened my own company: ALx CORZO PHOTOGRAPHY. I have passion for portraits in general, but I love music, fashion and sports photography; that’s why I get my self into the fashion industry and I started to cover smalls and big fashion shows like LA FASHION WEEK, at the same time I had my desire to cover big music shows and so far i’ve been shooting in small venues and big festivals, so now i have the experience to do my job with passion in any of those fields
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Running a photography bussines isn’t easy in a big city like LA, because out there are many talented people doing the same, so it’s neccesary to compite not only with quality, but also you need to be lucky to be the one many potential clients choose. It’s a roller coaster, there are weeks where i Can’t find a gig, however I’m not stopping my passion
As you know, we’re big fans of ALX CORZO PHOTOGRAPHY. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in fashion, music and sports. I use to dig to find stuning spots for special photoshoots, and I love to do any project with passion, so i don’t care if i need to lie on the floor to get the best angle, or if i need to get wet to catch a great portraitt of a model in a pool or in the sea. I offer a great variety of photoshoots i any area, from small events to big shows. so basically it could be a small and personalize session, corporative events or even social parties
What does success mean to you?
Succes for me is a day by day work. you need to learn how to accept be rejected in many cases but resilience would be the clue to get what you want. Persistence and patience are the weapond you need to keep in your mind to reach your goals
