Today we’re excited to be connecting with Emily Anderson again. We’re excited to feature one of their products in our gift guide – learn more below and we encourage you to use your gift budget to support small businesses & creatives whenever possible.
Emily, we loved learning your story, but I think our audience is going to appreciate learning about the product side of your story as well. So, maybe you can help bring everyone up to speed?
Palo Santo, which means holy wood, is a sacred tree that grows in select parts of South America. This tree species is known for its healing properties and has a deep spiritual history. Burned as a cleaning incense and used as a smudging tool to release a physical space from negative energy, Palo Santo wood invites practice with intention.
Unbeknownst to many, the wood can also be brewed into a tea or used as a culinary flavoring. Our goal is to spread the love for this remarkable tree and bring Palo Santo to the people all over the world in the form of delicious teas.
Do you have any interesting customer success stories you can share about folks for whom your product was a great fit?
We have been a bit delayed in restocking our herbal tea blend, and to be honest it’s taken a few months to get in back on the shelves as I am also running my other main business and haven’t had the bandwidth to get the herbal blend bagged and repackaged. However, we recently received two separate emails from people asking when the herbal would be back in stock and they missed it so much and if we could please let them know when they could re-order. This made me feel so happy and like wow our product is actually valuable to people and it’s become a part of their lives.
Have you tried any fun, non-traditional marketing ideas? If so, we’d love to hear the story and details.
We are aiming to team up with wellness practitioners and yoga teachers etc. to offer our tea as a sponsored product for yoga classes, soundbaths, retreats etc.
Do you have any advice for folks who are just starting out?
JUST DO IT! Stop overthinking every aspect of starting a new business and just start with the first most actionable step. The rest will fall into place so just trust the process.
