Dominique, so thrilled to have you joining us again, this time to talk all about products and so let’s jump right in. Please give our audience some background on the product side.
T.R.I.B.E is a massage themed coloring book, the meaning of the acronym is Touch Requires Integrity and Boldness Effortlessly. The coloring book will be an opportunity to utilize coloring as a therapeutic tool. Coloring can be a therapeutic and meditative activity, allowing the therapist to de-stress and engage in mindfulness, much like how they encourage clients to relax during massage sessions. Therapists can use the book to educate clients about the areas of the body being worked on, explaining how specific muscles relate to their pain or discomfort.

Can you walk us through the onboarding process for a new client?
As a massage therapist, it’s important to have verbal and written consent before performing a massage. You must be aware of their medical history, allergies, injuries, and their previous experiences with massage therapy. After speaking with them prior to their session, detect their comfortability, aches and pains, areas to avoid, and which pressure will be suitable for them. During the session, you check in with them about the pressure and overall state on the stage. This step is for all clients especially for new clients who.has never received a massage before prior to arriving at your treatment room.

If you had to boil your product or brand down to one core message – what would that message be?
I would have to say massage therapy is the art of healing through respectful touch, where compassion meets connection to nurture the body, mind, soul, and spirit.

What’s next on the product or brand roadmap?
I am planning to promote the coloring book at the Voices of Change in Ghana in December, present the idea to massage schools and health care professionals, and the coloring book is the introduction to the manuscript of my next solo book with the same title. The solo book goes into depth why respectful touch and trust correlate with massage therapy.
