Today we’d like to introduce you to Yesy Hernandez.
Hi Yesy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a refrigeration and air conditioning heating stationary mechanical engineer graduate with an MBA and over a decade of experience in the air conditioning and heating field.
I am the founder of a mechanical HVAC company called Climatisation HVAC Inc. I play different roles in the company, from cost estimation to project management on commercial buildings, retail stores, garage ventilation, and residential and apartment buildings.
I plan, organize, schedule, direct, control, and finish the construction firm’s projects. Every day is different, and it’s always full of new challenges. Part of my daily route is project management and working through the issues to solve the final goal. I feel grateful to be in my position.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The construction and engineering industry is constantly learning and challenging. I love this industry because it is entirely out of my comfort zone, and I learn something new daily. I love finding solutions to problems within the constraints placed upon me by different groups. Knowing I can build something that will last sustainably in my community is gratifying.
I have encountered many challenges in the construction & development field. Despite my challenges over the years, I have developed powerful skills in challenging positions. I am a valuable asset in securing roles in higher levers.
Over the years, this career has taught me how to build skills, knowledge, power, and respect, which allows me to become a female mentor in my industry.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love my hometown Burbank, California, which was born and raised there. However, I currently live in Woodland Hills, California, where there are a lot of good restaurants and stores around my area.
