Exploring Life & Business with Taylor Ferber of Cancel Me, Baby! Podcast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Ferber.

Hi Taylor, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was younger I’d stay up all night watching late-night show hosts and red-carpet correspondents interviewing the stars while dreaming of my future in that very spot. As an adult, I worked hard and I made it happen. Well… a version of it. Upon arriving in Hollywood, I quickly realized I didn’t fit in your typical cookie-cutter host box. I wanted to go deeper with my interviews and get to what was real, connect to something meaningful in the human experience versus the “tell me about your project” or “what are you wearing” questions.

I started contributing to pop culture’s most mainstream platforms like Us Weekly, Vulture, and Hollywood Reporter, I was meeting every A-lister from Oprah to Kim Kardashian, and covering the biggest events like the Grammys and Emmys (where I not-so-accidentally wound up in the first row). The dream, right? Yet something was always missing. Feeling confined by talking points my editors wanted, I decided to take matters into my own hands, launch my own platform TalkToMeTaylor.com, and create an opportunity of my own.

Without a fancy camera crew, I’d go out on the red carpet and talk to the stars about things I wanted — just a girl with her selfie stick. Disarming even the most recognizable of A-listers, I got into relatable and taboo issues with them and further, penned ballsy yet important Op-Eds for outlets like HuffPost, Playboy, and USA Today.

The pandemic shut down the industry, and it was a rough time for most of us. But hindsight is 20/20 and it truly was a blessing in disguise. It freed me and pushed me to branch out and create the voice and platform I always wanted. I picked myself up by the bootstraps (not my first time) and launched my show (again) — a pop culture podcast that was going to do what no one else was: to call things how I saw them, break out of the left/right political boxes, and keep having the dialogues I yearned for, sticking it to PC culture. It’s called Cancel Me, Baby!

What started as a little show in my parents’ house has grown into a robust platform with huge, influential media figures like A-list actress Lake Bell and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy on for revealing conversations that go there. Someone’s gotta do it, right? I just landed in Nashville as I continue my entrepreneurial journey to carve a path out in the media space.

Yes, Music City — where the clash of ideas, ideology, old school vs. the new wave in country music and culture at large is perhaps at its peak. There’s a lot that’s uncertain, but one thing I know is they could use a little Cancel Me, Baby here. So throw me in because I’m ready to take on the culture clash and be an instrumental part of the mix as it unfolds. Stay tuned, Hollywood. The best has yet to come.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As I’m typing this, I’m thinking about a meeting I had just this morning with a huge network TV station. It was not the first of its kind. When you don’t fit in a box, when you’re an innovator and a visionary — sometimes the powers that be just can’t catch up.

They’re dazzled, they’re impressed. But they don’t know where to put you or what exactly to do with you. I’ve been told this time and time again. And as frustrating as it can be to come up against, I’d rather be creating the game versus playing the game. Wouldn’t you?

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cancel Me, Baby! Podcast?
As a one-woman show in Hollywood for nearly a decade, I know what it takes to create a special voice and brand and the tools you need HOW to get it out there. I’ve been successful in cracking open a lane for myself amongst the most A-list and within established, legacy media outlets. So, I’ve recently extended the Cancel Me, Baby! brand to offer unique exposure and an unmatched experience to other people with a vision, brand, personality, company, and art form.

I want other personalities and entrepreneurs to get a buzz and their message out there (with the help of my signature style), and I have this marketing opportunity open to them to have a sit-down interview with me and even a cameo on my show. Check it out in the 2-minute video here: https://youtu.be/iBpQK4y2xWc. You, too, have worked hard, so let’s help make you the talk of the town.

What makes you happy?
Connecting with people from all walks of life and getting to the core of who they are and what they believe — I don’t care if it’s Michael Douglas or my local restauranteur. Getting people to open up, share a REAL human experience, and even better is bridging a gap and creating understanding or respect from someone who may not agree. I mean, we’re all just trying to figure out this thing called life as we go, right? And when it comes to community and connection, is there anything better??
