Exploring Life & Business with Sheyda Entezari of Skin an Aesthetic Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheyda Entezari

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a first generation Iranian-Mexican American. I was born in Southern California and raised in the SF Bay Area. I started my career in the beauty industry at a young age. I’ve always had a drive for entrepreneurship, just didn’t know where to start. It wasn’t until a year after I received my Aesthetics License that I knew exactly what I wanted. There was a lot of trial and error involved, both physically and financially. More no’s than yes’s. The no’s helped me become who I am today. I worked multiple jobs from waxing to cosmetic dermatology to medical aesthetics. I wasn’t satisfied and I started to question what clients wanted more of. That’s when the idea of opening up a medical grade skincare clinic happened. I opened Skin an Aesthetic Salon at our first ever location in the Bay Area. I wanted to create a one of a kind environment for clients to experience innovative treatments that bring both medical and cosmetic aesthetics together. Our first clinic ended up being a success over the years, and we have now expanded to West LA. Going back in time, I couldn’t imagine being where I am today. We have more to come and hope to keep expanding in the future!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our biggest challenge we’ve faced was working around COVID. There were constant and immediate notices for shut down and openings. Aestheticians in California were one of the last to be able to open back up for business to the public. We tried to navigate other ways of producing sales such as gift cards and prepaid packages. Even after the pandemic, lots of people were hesitant to come in for services. It took a while for everything to get back to usual.

As you know, we’re big fans of Skin an Aesthetic Salon. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a medical grade skincare clinic specializing in advanced aesthetics, corrective treatments, and event skin preparation. I am the founder and only medical aesthetician that provides all the treatments. Some of the treatments we offer include chemical peels, facials, mesotherapy, depigmentation systems, dermaplaning, brow lamination, and vegan waxing. We work on skin concerns not just on the face, but on the body as well- such as stretch mark removal, scarring, underarm brightening and more. We are well known for our transformative results on pigmentation, acne, and aging regardless of skin type or ethnicity. Something that sets us apart is definitely our treatments- we do not follow or bring in new treatments just because they’re the new trend everywhere, instead we stay on top of new treatments that are effective and not readily available at any clinic you walk into. Our main focus is skin health and research before anything.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Nothing comes easy. Lots of people stop trying to reach their goals once they fail at something. Failure is how you learn to be a better version of yourself, it’s the best way to improve. You can do anything you set your mind to but you must put in the time, effort, and energy. The first year in business is the hardest one you will learn the most from. So staying active on social media and marketing your business is key during this time.
