Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheri Fink
Hi Sheri, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in rural Virginia where I had outlandish dreams of becoming a writer, a teacher, a mother, a princess and a mermaid. I longed to live in Southern California where I believed the magic would happen. I was always writing, drawing, playing, and creating little businesses for fun.
After grad school, I seized the opportunity to move to California and to climb the corporate ladder in marketing. After over 12 years in that industry, I realized that the ladder I’d been climbing had been up against the wrong wall. Following some soul searching inspired by adversity on the job, I was inspired to write my first book, The Little Rose.
Over a year after I wrote the story, I decided to publish it as a children’s picture book. Within two weeks of release, The Little Rose became a #1 best-seller on Amazon and stayed at #1 for over 60 weeks, changing everything in my life for the better.
I loved the idea of writing books and giving speeches that would make a positive difference. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve published 17 books in 3 genres, created fun merchandise and beauty items based on my brand, and traveled the world sharing my inspirational story and empowering people to go for their dreams.
Everything great in my life has come from that moment of courage to share my story with the world — my books, my business, meeting and marrying my soulmate, and so much more. I’m so grateful to be living the life I dreamt about while I was growing up and helping others’ dreams come true in the process.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been many challenges: being new to an unknown industry, not having any connections in the publishing world, learning to build a brand and a business from scratch, embracing my authentic self and being brave enough to share my heart with the world, and running an entrepreneurial business during economic downturns, to name a few.
I believe in infinite possibilities and feel determined to create a whimsical world that I want to be in where kids believe in themselves and really go for what they want in life while encouraging and empowering others to do the same. My passion for that dream is far larger than any fear that pops up along the way. I train myself to stay focused on the vision and to take action in the direction of that dream daily.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Los Angeles is such a uniquely special place to live. I love LA and enjoy planning once-in-a-lifetime adventures for my friends and family when they visit our beautiful city. Here are a few favorites that are always on my list:
1. Seeing the Los Angeles Dodgers play at Dodger Stadium (Elysian Park)
2. Visiting the Santa Monica Pier at sunset and eating funnel cake with ice cream (Santa Monica)
3. Going to Disneyland, riding the newest rides, and getting pictures with our favorite Disney characters (Anaheim)
4. Visiting The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens and having tea/lunch in The Rose Garden Tea Room (Pasadena)
5. Going to the Terranea Resort and dining at Nelson’s al fresco on a night when they have live music by the ocean (Palos Verdes)
6. Having a fun night out with magic and dinner at the Magic Castle (Hollywood)
My least favorite thing about LA (and any city) is the traffic. But, it’s worth it to live in one of the best cities in the world!
