Scotty Anderson

Hi Scotty, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hey everyone! Thank you for the opportunity to share my journey with you and your readers. I’m Scott Anderson, the Brand Ambassador for Framework Financials. My friends call me Scotty.

My path to becoming a Brand Ambassador for Framework Financials has been both unique and rewarding. Having leadership experience in the service and corporate industries led me inevitably to the entertainment industry. I started working in various production roles and was lucky to get in-depth experience as a Production Assistant and then as a Production Coordinator. Working as a Production Coordinator gave me an operational understanding of the production process and let me work with a variety of production accountants.

I had worked with the Framework Financials team on various projects before, but our work together on Coach Prime – Season 1, SMAC’s Emmy Nominated Unscripted Series, is what really allowed me to get an insight into their inner workings and sheer effectiveness. I was immediately impressed by their efficiency, innovation, and client engagement. The way their teams simplified complex financial processes for the production teams and then synchronized with the operations staff was mesmerizing. Their approach not only made the financial aspect seamless but also allowed creatives to focus on what they do best – creating (and problem-solving).

Recognizing my passion for the industry and my experience in production, Framework offered me the role of a Brand Ambassador. It was a perfect fit. I could bridge my understanding of production with the financial services that Framework Financials offers. My role involves educating and connecting with production teams and explaining to them how Framework Financials can tailor financial solutions to their unique needs. I also represent the Framework Financials team and brand at events.

As a Brand Ambassador, I am proud to represent a firm that is dedicated to not just the precision and results-oriented work that we’re known for but for the deep client engagement that has become the foundation of our brand.

My journey here has been about connecting two worlds I am passionate about – production and finance. Essentially, I’m looking to help others in the industry see the value that Framework Financials brings to their companies, projects, and productions.

As the Brand Ambassador, I’m the voice of the company and the link to the community, and establishing this voice has been crucial to our success. But a crucial part of my job is also to listen, gather feedback from the field, and relay it back to our team. This feedback loop has been instrumental in shaping our services to be more attuned to the evolving needs of the financial industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve had to deal with a variety of ups and downs, as this job has really propelled my professional growth.

For all the difficulties and struggles I’ve faced in this department, I can’t thank my team enough for their help in not just getting through it but conquering each challenge. Also, Lana Heau, our Director of Marketing has been instrumental in establishing our design and brand identity. I think having powerful leadership in marketing might have been key in establishing a clear brand identity.

I don’t simply speak with our clients, but try to connect with them on a personal and professional level. Combined with the sincerity of our approach and the strength of our brand, I like to make sure that our voice stands above the rest. I’ll walk you through three of my professional struggles that I’ve had to address in achieving this goal.

My journey with Framework Financials has been an educational one. I’ve held a variety of leadership positions throughout my professional journey. Succeeding in these positions have required a good amount of financial and accounting knowledge, and yet, I felt completely unprepared once I stepped into the Framework realm. Coming on board meant going through additional training in corporate bookkeeping and accounting, credit card services, and production accounting. Talia Schulz, our Operations Manager, was my lifeline during the initial academic part of my introductory period. She and her team walked me through the basics and began delving deeper into these principles. Watching Talia and her team break these complex and intricate systems down to their basics made me realize that no matter how much I thought I had learned, I kept finding myself still learning the fundamentals.

During my many classes with the team, I realized that part of the brand value of Framework Financials isn’t just the financial magic the accounting teams make happen, but the ability to have these intricacies be applied and explained to our clients in a clear and engaging way. Under the direction of Lana, we decided to make client engagement a fundamental cornerstone of the Framework Financials brand.

Speaking of the Framework Financials brand, understanding its unified voice has been a challenge as well. I came on board because of our overlap in the production world, but Framework Financials also operates in the corporate and consumer spheres. This means that our brand ends up having a different appeal to each market it finds itself within. Forming and expressing this unified voice for a company with a wide range of clients has been challenging. I believe that identifying and isolating this problem helped us find our brand identity and voice.

I brought this issue up to the leadership team; and yet again, Lana was integral in establishing and clarifying this identity and voice. Delving to the fundamentals of our precision, experience, results, and client engagement formed our approach. We were able to combine these fundamentals into a unified voice and brand. We’re not just experts in our field, but also honest and sincere, and there’s strength to that which can’t be overstated.

Our different divisions have definitely had their own challenges. We’re very active in the production accounting world but still face a big challenge we call ‘Bridging the Gap’. I’m specifically talking about bridging the gap between the creative and financial aspects of the production industry. My clients are in a field where creativity is paramount, so introducing a focus on financial management and accounting is often met with resistance and people like to use the older solutions they’re used to. The creative professionals I interacted with were understandably more focused on their art and sometimes viewed the financial aspect as a cumbersome necessity, not what it could be – one of the most powerful tools in their arsenal.

I think the ultimate hurdle as a Brand Ambassador is establishing trust. Whether it’s corporate finance or production accounting, all the projects are time-sensitive, and budgets are tight. Convincing other teams to trust you, your brand, and your team for the first time requires not just showing the efficiency of our services but also building long-term relationships based on trust and understanding.

That was a bit of a mouthful, but I hope that this gives some insight into brand management and identity for anyone looking to get into marketing.

As you know, we’re big fans of Framework Financials, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Framework Financials, LLC is a dynamic financial services firm that specializes in catering to the unique needs of its clients. Framework Financials is composed of three divisions – corporate, entertainment, and Framework PAY, our credit card concierge and bypass.

I think we’ve talked a lot about our corporate and production accounting services, so I would like to start with something a bit more unique and interesting. Our credit card services division is one that I’m personally very proud of. Establishing Framework PAY’s client services has been one of my personal undertakings. So, what is Framework PAY? Framework Financials, LLC offers a credit card concierge and passthrough service called Framework PAY. In simple terms, it allows both individuals as well as businesses to use their credit cards for their big ticket items that they would otherwise would not be able to. Let me explain – you can place almost all your personal costs on our credit cards except for what really matters like your rent, mortgage, or car payments. There are two primary reasons why being able to pay for these big-ticket items with a credit card can be crucial to creating value.

First, there are the points – with every dollar you spend, you can earn points that can then be used for a variety of perks. More powerful cards have more powerful points that you can use for a variety of benefits that range from free access to luxury lounges, travel, concerts, and amazing vacations, to more exclusive pricing. If not, some of our clients just pay off their statement balance with these points. Remember, these are fixed costs you’re going to have to pay for anyway, so you might as well get the additional value on every dollar spent.

Second, there’s the credit – whether you’re a business or an individual, being able to place your major expenses on your credit card gives you the guarantee of meeting that liability and making that payment. When it comes to things like rent and mortgages, having this functional line of credit can be a lifesaver. It has definitely helped me and my coworkers through both the writer’s and the actor’s strikes. Being able to flex your credit to meet these fundamental expenses regardless of your cash position is both a lifesaver and gives our clients the confidence to sleep comfortably at night.

Using Framework PAY also builds your credit toward your goals like home ownership, lower rates, and electrified credit scores. We help our clients get the premium cards they had always wanted, with the benefits to match. And if our clients have poor or bad credit, we help them get premium cars and establish their credit through positive volume.

Our corporate side serves small and medium-sized businesses with a variety of financial services like bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll. We provide our clients with an ecosystem of tools and services to help them concentrate on what matters most – their work! Look, finances are complicated. I’m a Brand Ambassador for a multi-divisional financial services firm, and most of what they do might as well be magic to me. So my clients get nothing but my empathy and support when it comes to having financial or accounting questions. And that’s where we come in – we don’t just offer a spectrum of services, but are also the trusted experts you can call with your casual, or perhaps not so casual, questions.

Our entertainment division offers one of our most powerful expertise – production accounting. Although we offer other operational goodies like production coordinators, line producers, and EICs, our core expertise lies in production accounting, where we combine our financial experience with a deep understanding of the production world to offer custom solutions.

I think what sets us apart is our ability to seamlessly integrate our services into the creative process and the already-established production teams. I take client engagement very seriously, and production accounting is an area that we really lean into this aspect of our brand. We know that each production is unique, and our team is skilled in adapting to the specific financial requirements of each project, whether it’s a small independent film or a large-scale television production. We have a lot of experience with both local US-based productions, as well as large scale international movies. Our services range from budgeting and cost reporting to tax credit optimization and audit preparation. We also specialize on all entertainment accounting and payroll platforms including Entertainment Partners, Media Services, PSL+, and Green Slate.

Having accountants with both corporate and production accounting experience gives us our reputation, but it’s the dependable results delivered on a regular basis that really establish the trust and brand loyalty from our clients that Framework Financials is known for.

What matters most to you?
This is a bit of a biased question, but in short – brand loyalty and client satisfaction. As a Brand Ambassador for Framework Financials, I would say that what matters most to us can be distilled into three core values: delivering outstanding results, building trust, and deep client engagement. These values form the bedrock of our approach to everything Framework Financials does.

Delivering outstanding results is at the heart of everything we do. One thing that holds true between the corporate and the entertainment divisions is that they’re both fast-paced and high-pressure environments. Our clients depend on us for accuracy, timeliness, and financial foresight. And this focus on results means we’re always striving to exceed expectations. This very dependability of results sets a benchmark of flawless work that our brand stands for.

I don’t really need to delve into trust much as I think it’s kind of self-evident here. Trust is fundamental in our industry. Financial management and production accounting involve handling sensitive information, significant financial transactions, extensive books, and detailed reporting with the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Client engagement is the other side of my job. I believe in building strong, lasting relationships with our clients. This means understanding their unique needs, being proactive in our communication, and staying connected beyond the confines of specific productions. My approach to client engagement is about being a supportive partner, not just a vendor. It’s through this deep engagement that I can truly tailor our services to each client’s specific needs and contribute to their success.

In essence, it’s not just about what we do but how and why we do it.
