Exploring Life & Business with Sazia Malek of MedWell Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sazia Malek.

Hi Sazia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had an admiration of combing the two forces of science and beauty into one, the world of Medical Aesthetics. After achieving my BSN from West Coast University in North Hollywood, I immediately got hired at Kaiser West Los Angeles as a bedside RN in the post-surgical and medical-surgical department while also working for med-spas and a plastic surgeon. Through this experience, I realized to achieve the autonomy I envisioned for myself and my practice, I had to attain my MSN-FNP. After completing my MSN from the University of Southern California, I worked as a Pain Management Nurse Practitioner while simultaneously creating MedWell Aesthetics. An intimate space focused primarily on the patient and their wellness & aesthetic goals. With the current trend of overfilled and ‘one size fits all’ techniques, MedWell Aesthetics differs. I thrive to deliver natural, balanced results with the theory of ‘less is more’. I work off your own shadows and highlights to accentuate the natural anatomy of the face. When you leave MedWell, I never want you thinking you look different, rather more awake and rejuvenated.

I absolutely love what I do and continue to seek education from all over the world to provide my clients with the best possible results!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It is definitely tough transitioning from a clinician to a business owner. Starting a business from absolute scratch has its own struggles. However, I have learned that if you truly believe in the work you are doing and are passionate about learning every single day, the struggles will become motivation to do your very best. As a business owner, it does not stop. You face challenges each day from an admin standpoint and/or a clinician standpoint, but the rewards are much more worthwhile!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
MedWell Aesthetics, located in Manhattan Beach, CA, is a private boutique-style med spa focusing on medical wellness and aesthetic services for men and women alike.

We specialize in full facial rejuvenation from inside out.

We take a global approach to aesthetics and create a plan customized to each individuals’ anatomy and features. We do not believe in ‘one size fits all’ techniques. We believe in the theory of ‘less is more’ and thrive for balance over voluminization. Our goal is to rejuvenate and balance while maintaining the client’s inherent, natural beauty.

We take time with each and every one of our clients as if it were our own family in the treatment room. Our consults are extensive & thorough, and our treatment plan is developed for long-term goals.

When looking at the face, we visualize it as one unit. Each feature complementing the next and creating a seamless transition. It would be a disservice to our clients to treat one area alone while not harmonizing and balancing the surrounding anatomical structures. It’s science and art behind each injection site that creates true facial rejuvenation!

This is what I am most proud of, creating an intimate space that focuses ONLY on the client while truly rejuvenating and creating natural balanced results. Los Angeles is filled with over-filled and unnatural faces. It brings me great joy to break away from that trend and deliver subtle yet impactful enhancements to a face.

If we can restore confidence in even one person through our services, we believe we have done our job right.

We offer IV Hydration, Wellness Shots, Skin Care, Chemical Peels, Microneedling w/ PRF, PRF injections, Dermal Fillers, and Neurotoxins.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, there’s no place like it. I did live in India for a few years while I was a teen and it really had me appreciating LA even more. I love the diversity and inclusiveness that we see in Los Angeles plus the food is unparalleled!

The thing I like least about Los Angeles is the need for everyone to look like a celebrity. Celebrate yourselves, not celebrities. This is another reason why I love taking a global approach to aesthetics because no two people have the same anatomy, so why should they when undergoing aesthetic treatments? It takes a very artistic eye to be able to deliver natural results unique to that client.
