Hi Ryan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Three years ago, I, Ryan, the owner faced a pivotal moment after a bad car accident which left me with herniated disks. Choosing a natural path to recovery and refusing surgery, I explored traction and yoga under the guidance of an alternative doctor. This journey led me to Nepal, where a life-altering yoga retreat inspired the birth of Herbaculture Dance & Fitness Studio just three days after my return.
The studio faced hurdles, including two temporary closures due to legal issues surrounding CBD sales. Amidst the challenges, the onset of the pandemic forced a third closure within a year and a half. Realizing that yoga alone couldn’t sustain the studio financially, I expanded the offerings to include Pole Dancing, Lyra, Aerial Arts, Burlesque, Belly Dancing, Hip-Hop, Flexibility, and more. We also became an event studio as well.
Despite the setbacks, Herbaculture emerged as the number one dance and fitness destination in Orange County, a testament to its resilience and commitment to holistic well-being.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Defying the odds, we faced two closures for legally permissible CBD sales and weathered the storm of the pandemic. Operating in the highly saturated yoga industry of Orange County demanded resilience. To stand out, we diversified our offerings, introducing elements like aerial arts, belly dancing, hip-hop, flexibility, and burlesque. Transforming into an event studio, Herbaculture now thrives in a dynamic and multifaceted space.
