Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruben Ventura.
Hi Ruben, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Mexican American born of immigrant parents on December 30th, 1987 at Martin Luther King hospital. I began my fitness and personal training career in 2008 and continued with my certifications until 2013. I worked for many large corporations as a financial manager in the city of Indio and cathedral city. Fast forward to 2018 I began doing my own planning on opening a fitness gym. Began working with many people within my community and building strong relationships with organizations that are pushing for health. Coming 2019 March 13th we went into lockdown. My dreams for a gym I felt were completely gone. Hoping the state would remove the mandate I waited about two months before I made one of the biggest decisions of my life. Now you all must understand I am a father of three girls and a husband. So this life-changing decision was indeed not only my life but the lives of my family could change as well. I began the process of remodeling my home garage. I converted my garage into a full-service private gym and began working day in and day out until more than 1000lbs of body fat off of more than 100 clients within the first quarter. I am now one of the most influential no b.s. trainers out here in my area and we have made it through the pandemic and through many more adversities. Insomniacthlete is here to stay and we are stronger than ever.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest struggles was definitely starting the company in the heart of the pandemic. From lockdowns, curfews, face masks.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the sole member of my corporation. I am also a video editor, fashion designer, and product developer. I am also an investor I have the skills to bring strong brands to life through Insomniacthlete.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I found that we all have three options in life but are only given two which may set limitations to many out there trying to find their way. Options for anyone, are you a follower? Are you a leader? Are you just genuinely yourself? That last one is what I follow. I have truly chosen to be myself and became someone that is obsessed with becoming the best at what I am specifically good at. In short, just be you, and find a way to help the people around you with each of your wins.
