Today we’d like to introduce you to Phoenix Destiny.
Hi Phoenix, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a native born Angeleno of Deep South extraction. I was raised in a pretty tight-knit family along with my younger brother in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles and in the High Desert. My family has been a foundation of support and love for as long as I can remember. My grandparents were instrumental figures in my development and helped to instill the values of service, community and spirituality. They were models of character who were actively engaged as leaders in the church, civic groups and more. My upbringing at home and also in schools, amongst teachers who could’ve been my aunties, truly informed my desire and responsibility to become an agent of change for the greater good of all humanity. In my walk thus far, the act of being a change maker has manifested in my role as a social justice organizer and activist for many years. However, I found that in the fight for freedom, justice and equality, my spirit was often depleted. Spirituality has been an anchor throughout my life and has helped to elevate me out of some dark times in my life. Spirituality is a vehicle which can and should be nurtured and harnessed in our daily lives. My spiritual journey and related practices ultimately shone a light upon my gifts as a healer which led to the creation of my products and other services. The social upheaval and great devastations we have faced as a nation, as the whole of humanity within the past year and a half, were significant catalysts for me to step up and provide an offering of love to act as a healing balm for the aching human condition.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, this definitely has NOT been an easy road as a new entrepreneur who opened shop in the time of a global pandemic. It was a humongous leap of faith to pivot into a new career direction, especially as a mother raising a teen daughter. However, I am so excited each and every day to wake up and do what I do… to feel as if I am doing something that truly matters and can benefit a great deal of people. Running a business is a very intimate process in which one invests so much time, energy and essence to power forward. It is really up to you to make things happen as an entrepreneur, but it’s also very thrilling. It has always been a dream of mine to work for myself, as my father and grandparents were also entrepreneurs. However, in the past, I lacked the confidence to pursue what I once thought was a lofty idea. There is definitely a lot to learn and I feel like I do learn something new every single day. You become a student all over again in this process. As much as there have been struggles, there are victories. I have come across the most kind-hearted and supportive people ever who have cheered my efforts along the way. They have been my guideposts that are illuminating my way.

The Cosmik Playground is a company of conscience that emerged as my brainchild in 2020 as the answer deep soul yearning. What initially began as a mission to serve & uplift members of humanity by offering spiritual healing practices amidst worldwide upheaval and tumult has further expanded into the development and production of tools for implementation in one’s own unique spiritual journey. Some of my offerings include intention candles, anointing and attraction oils, spiritual baths and smelling salts. I will be offering one to one sessions again as well as many amazing new products in the near future!
What matters most to you? Why?
Family, comm-UNITY, spirit, nature, love, creativity, and wisdom all mean the world to me. Each of these elements contributes to the health and well-being of the whole person. When we are healing, it causes a ripple effects in our lives and those around us and thus, we are able to contribute to the greater good of all.
