Exploring Life & Business with Mike Lindle of Framework Films

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Lindle.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Before setting up shop here in Los Angeles, I called many places home. I’m originally from New York City but have also lived in Montclair, Washington DC, Sydney, and Denver. The goal of developing professional eminence and advancing my career has been a priority of mine for many years. Each city offered me different perspectives, highlighting professional industries and regional specialties. In DC, I held titles at The Federal Reserve, National Archives, and United States Capitol. Not long after, I switched to the corporate sector to work for a Big 4 consulting firm drafting, managing, and executing data analytics contracts across major cities in the US. Most importantly, I would always travel with my camera equipment to film these urban landscapes outside of working hours. For years, I traveled every week to cities like NY, SF, LA, Charlotte, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Dallas, and Chicago to spend time with our clients on-site and implement our professional service contracts for our Fortune 500 client base. Excellent client service, consistency, and creativity were very important to maintain these industry relationships and stay relevant.

Gaining industry exposure to corporate contracting and learning how to foster and maintain client relationships were extremely important to growing as a business owner.

It was a risky decision to leave the traditional corporate ladder behind and fully enter the creative economy by founding Framework Films. When I left corporate America, I was no longer able to ignore my artistic goals and start publishing footage and building the creative media production agency Framework Films.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been many speed bumps along the way, but as I’ve learned from my time road tripping and car camping, the best locations usually have the worst roads. Handling citywide lockdowns and Covid quarantine measures are the most recent hardships Framework Films has endured. Our team found opportunity through hardship by adapting to the newly formed market needs of the Fortune 500s and updating our service offerings to incorporate pandemic production development.

Because of the pandemic, corporate media strategy is now pressured to incorporate new concepts and film technologies to keep their employees informed and audiences engaged. This has increased the demand for communications strategies to include elevated services such as:

– More effort for reputation and brand identity management
— Adaptability to be flexible and modern

– Replacing press releases/grand openings with cinematic productions for distribution across channels/media outlets

– Need for attention-grabbing and innovative campaigns

— Aerial, timelapse
— Slow-motion, UHD stabilized
— VFX, Animation, etc

– Higher quality webinar conferences/learning summits (in both production and post-production) to be consumed remote.

– Supplementing in-person events with high-quality recordable live streams for viewers at home.

– Immersive Drone Fly-throughs or 360 Virtual Tours.

– Globally curated publicity stunts through social channels and community engagement to generate excitement around new product/IP releases.

– Cinematic event recap videos for those who are remote.

— These changes qualitatively imply a deeper narrative and perspective shift while simultaneously proving the use of advanced cinema methodologies, overall elevating production quality. Some, but not all, companies are adapting

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Framework Films?
