Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Ghalili.
Hi Mark, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine, and went on to earn my medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences. After medical school, I chose to pursue Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
As a regenerative medicine specialist, my passion lies in educating patients about chronic disease, prevention, and uncovering the root causes of illness. Early in my career, I began to see the trajectory of modern medicine shifting toward a “pill for every ill” mentality. I realized that the conventional model I was taught in medical school and residency often ignored the value of integrative, alternative, and regenerative medicine. I saw firsthand how millions of people were living with chronic illness, cycling through doctor after doctor, without ever truly being heard—or healed.
I knew that couldn’t be my path. But it wasn’t until a life-changing personal experience that everything truly shifted.
In late 2016, I suffered a devastating adverse reaction to a commonly prescribed antibiotic, Cipro. Just two days into treatment, I found myself in unimaginable pain, barely able to function. That moment marked the beginning of a cascade of debilitating symptoms: muscle wasting, burning neuropathy, seizures, brain fog, vertigo, vision problems, and torn tendons. I lost the ability to walk and became confined to a wheelchair. Traditional medicine had no answers for me—and worse, many doctors didn’t even believe me.
Desperate and determined, I turned to the very therapies I’d been curious about—alternative and regenerative medicine. Slowly but surely, I began to heal. I rebuilt my body from the inside out using natural, evidence-based treatments, from mitochondrial support and regenerative therapies to a plant-based diet and genetic optimization. I refused to accept a lifetime of pain and disability—and within weeks, I went from being wheelchair-bound to running again. That moment will always stay with me.
This experience completely transformed the way I practice medicine. It opened my eyes to how little we’re taught in medical training about how to truly heal the human body. Millions of people are prescribed antidepressants, painkillers, stimulants, statins, steroids, and antibiotics without ever understanding the long-term consequences.
Today, I focus on finding the why behind every illness and treat the root cause—often starting at the cellular level. Repairing mitochondrial function is key to optimizing health and can be the missing link in treating countless conditions. My goal is to empower my patients, especially those who feel failed or dismissed by the traditional healthcare system. I use a customized approach that includes genetic testing, IV nutrition, peptide therapy, hormone optimization, anti-aging protocols, and advanced cell therapies.
I’ve dedicated my life to helping others reclaim their health, especially those suffering from chronic conditions or adverse drug reactions. Having lived through a near-death experience, I understand what it’s like to feel abandoned by medicine—and I’ve made it my mission to be the doctor who listens, who cares, and who fights alongside every patient to restore what was lost.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to becoming a regenerative medicine physician hasn’t been easy. In the beginning, I was called a quack, a fraud—even accused of fabricating my own story of disability and recovery. I’ve received an overwhelming amount of hate online, even from others suffering from the same condition I battled. Some couldn’t understand how I made a full recovery, and because I couldn’t help everyone for free, I became a target.
This has been one of the most difficult aspects of my work—not the science, not the patient care—but the resistance from a system that’s designed to suppress true healing. Health insurance companies don’t cover treatments that actually restore health. They only reimburse for pharmaceuticals that mask symptoms, rarely address the root cause, and too often make the problem worse.
Despite the challenges, I remain committed. Because I know what it’s like to suffer. And I know what’s possible when we stop treating symptoms and start rebuilding health from the ground up. The backlash from other doctors was hard to ignore. It was disheartening, especially knowing that much of the criticism came from those still stuck in a system built around prescribing pharmaceuticals—some of which have the potential to cause the very kind of damage I experienced firsthand. I get it—many are just doing what they were trained to do, and for some, it’s a business. But I couldn’t stay silent knowing how many lives are being impacted by treatments that mask symptoms instead of resolving them. I had to prove myself—one patient at a time. I started with someone who, like me, was suffering from antibiotic toxicity. I focused on finding and treating the root cause, and when that patient began to recover, it sent a powerful message: healing is possible. From there, more patients took a leap of faith with me. I let the results speak for themselves.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I founded Regenerative Medicine LA to offer natural and alternative health solutions—especially when our broken medical system runs out of answers. Our mission is to identify and fix the root cause of illness, addressing the underlying damage that’s affecting millions around the world. We don’t gaslight our patients—we empower them. We educate them on how to heal their own bodies and take control of their health journeys.
We’ve become known for reversing autoimmune conditions, helping disabled patients walk again, treating vaccine injuries, and most importantly—providing a safe space where patients don’t have to fear that their doctor will continue harming them. Having been disabled by antibiotics myself, I know exactly what it’s like to sit in the patient’s seat. That lived experience has made me an expert not only in treatment, but in empathy.
From a brand perspective, one of my proudest achievements has been launching Regen Labs in 2021, a doctor-formulated and doctor-approved supplement and beauty line designed to offer safe, natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals and cosmetic injectables. I’ve always believed the human body has the ability to repair itself, especially if it’s given the right nutrients. There’s no need for mind-altering drugs when we focus on cellular healing.
Through my work with peptides and advanced nutraceuticals, I’ve created a high-end line for those who want results without the risks of pharmaceutical dependency, side effects, or withdrawals. Regen Labs is more than a brand—it’s a movement toward a healthier, more conscious way of living.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m honored to serve as a physician advisor to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the current Head of Health and Human Services for the United States. Together, our mission is to provide Americans with transparent, informed education about the everyday items, food sources, and personal care products that may be silently impacting their health. Most people have no idea how many common exposures are contributing to chronic disease—and it’s time that changed.
My life’s purpose is to empower individuals to question the system, do their own research, and never blindly accept a prescription without understanding its long-term impact. We live in an era where true informed consent is rare—and I believe every person has the right to take control of their health journey.
In California alone, rates of autism in boys have reached alarming levels—1 in 12.5, according to a recent study from HHS. The numbers are likely even higher in cities like Los Angeles. These statistics are a wake-up call. We must look at the environment, the toxins, the medications, and the policies contributing to this crisis—and we must do better.
