Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi! My name is Lily, I’ve been a Brow Artist for a little over 2 years now. I’ve always wanted to be in the beauty industry but I had no idea how to get my foot in the door. In 2020 I was presented with an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up and that’s how my journey began.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve learned quickly that there is no “smooth”, “easy” or “fast” way in this industry. Everything that has value takes time, patience and hard work. One of the biggest struggles that I think everyone can relate to is building up the confidence within your work. There were many times that I doubted my work, doubted my decision to start my business, etc. but once you start believing and having confidence everything else seems to fall into place.

I’m a first-generation Latina-owned business. I specialize in everything brows; brow waxing, brow henna stain, brow lamination and microblading. I am super passionate about making others feel beautiful and taking time out to pamper themselves. We live in a fast work type of environment so when a client comes in I make sure that it is an experience where they feel that it is all about THEM! Whether that is having a therapy venting session or a quiet nap time.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Being a business owner means you’re a risk taker! To circle back on what I said about confidence they go hand and hand. If you have the confidence and believe in yourself these risk don’t seem as daunting. I believe in taking the risk instead of wondering “what if”. Plus, there is always growth from risk — it’s all about perspective;
