Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Esposito.
Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your back story.
I moved to LA in 2017 after filming The Conjuring 2. I originally moved here for an acting; however, in 2020, when the world shut down, I was in the process of completing my personal training certification. I began training my roommate every day and started slowly building a virtual clientele during that time. As an actor, I grew up wanting to shrink myself and become the skinniest version of myself. I hated it and was so unhappy, which led me to wanting to train women to get stronger and healthier. To help them not want to shrink themselves. During this time, I got certified in Pilates and started my private Pilates business, Le Fit Studio. I have a studio in Sherman Oaks I train my private clients out of.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building a business from the ground up is so tough. For me, it was hard at the beginning because everyone only thought of me as an actor. It was so hard to get people to understand that no, I can do more and AM more than just an actor!
Business is extremely hard to build from the ground up. But i am extremely lucky to have met some amazing clients and people through Training Mate (which is the gym I first started teaching group fitness at). Very grateful for that gym.
Discovering business taxes are also a struggle lol
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a private pilates instructor and business owner. I specialize in pre & post-natal, women’s strength training & reformer pilates classes.
My approach is very loving and kind. Pilates classes can be a very intimidating environment (especially because it is such a trend right now), so I make sure my studio has a calm energy, and I make sure every one of my clients who walk through the door is seen & heard and feel safe.
I am most proud of the amount of growth the studio has gotten in the last 6-8 months. It truly blows my mind how loyal my clients are and how excited they are to show their friends and family.
Services include:
50 min private reformer classes
50 min semiprivate (you and a friend) reformer classes.
All catered to your individual goals and needs.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My major risk was quitting working for a gym and going out on my own to start le fit studio. It was scary, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you don’t try, you will never know what could happen for you. I’ve noticed that in business failing happens all the time. It makes you work harder and helps guide you towards your goals to success.
Pricing:
- $80 private class
- $90 semi-private class
