Today we’d like to introduce you to Kasinee Meyer.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From Orphanage to Opportunity: How a Thai-Born Entrepreneur Found Purpose in America
I was born in Thailand and raised by a single mother. Due to difficulties at home, I was briefly placed in an orphanage as a child. Growing up, I felt lost and unwanted, and it planted deep questions in my heart about worth, love, and belonging.
Growing up, school was hard—especially English. I struggled so much that I was eventually kicked out at just 11 years old. At that point, I was overwhelmed with confusion and filled with doubt about what my future held.
But life had other plans. My father later stepped in and gave me a second chance—supporting me to study in Malaysia. There, I faced my fears head-on. I learned English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and for the first time, I began to believe in my own potential.
Eventually, I returned to Thailand and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Thammasat University. That’s where I met the love of my life—an American exchange student who would later become my husband. Our journey together brought me to the United States, where I began to discover what the “American Dream” truly meant to me.
In the early years, I wore many hats—working as a server, a notary, and eventually earning a coveted position as a chef in pastry department at Per Se, one of the most renowned 3 Michelin-starred restaurants in the world. Through my pastry career, I had the pleasure of working alongside incredible chefs like David Carmichael, David Bouley, and the legendary Chef Thomas Keller. Creating desserts that brought joy to people’s most memorable moments taught me not only the art of culinary excellence, but also the power of focus, discipline, and teamwork at the highest level. One of the highlights of that chapter in my life was competing in and winning a gold medal at the Societe des Cuisiniers de France Fruit Carving Competition 2014. It was a proud moment that validated years of dedication to my craft and the art of bringing beauty to the plate.
I loved making desserts that gave people happiness, especially on their special days—but everything changed when we decided to grow our family…I had always dreamed of being a present, devoted mother. I wanted to lead by example and be the role model for my children. So the moment I got pregnant, I made the difficult decision to leave the culinary world behind and focus on the most important role of my life—mom.
Looking for flexible work, I found the financial industry. What began as a practical choice soon turned into a purpose-driven path. I rose quickly—starting as a life insurance agent and becoming a licensed financial advisor by my second year.
I’ve always had a deep passion for volunteering, starting in my teenage years—whether it was supporting shelters, HIV centers, or uplifting immigrant communities. For me, helping others has never been a job—it’s a calling. And in finance, I found something I never expected: a career that aligned perfectly with my heart for service.
The fulfillment I now feel each day comes from knowing that I’m using my skills to make a real, lasting difference. The financial world gave me the chance to merge what I love—empowering people—with what I do for a living. I help families build security, peace of mind, and generational wealth with clarity and compassion.
After seven years in the field, my partners and I launched women owned business Infinite Secure Life Insurance Agency, to serve immigrant communities with the compassion, cultural understanding, and personalized service they deserve. I use my own multicultural background and language skills to guide clients through life-changing decisions—and it’s deeply meaningful work.
Today, my two boys, ages 6 and 7, are my greatest joy. I teach them what I’ve learned through every struggle and breakthrough—that mindset is everything. Instead of saying, “I can’t do it,” I encourage them to ask, “How can I do it?” Because life is what you make of it, and your next chapter is always in your hands.
I live by a simple belief: Always ask, “How can I add value? How can I help?” That belief inspired me to launch my podcast, Modtivational (แม่มดขี่ม้าขาว), where I speak to those navigating tough seasons. I want to remind people of two things:
1. It’s better to try and fail than to live with the regret of never having tried at all.
2. Success is not final, failure is not fatal— you win or you learn.
From an orphanage in Thailand to founding my own financial agency in America, my journey is far from perfect—but it’s proof that if you lead with courage, compassion, and consistency, anything is possible.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not. My journey has been filled with challenges—each one shaping me into the woman I am today.
I grew up in a broken family. And while I know I’m not alone in that, it deeply impacted me. I spent much of my early life in survival mode, constantly wondering what my purpose was. That question stayed with me for a long time.
One of my biggest personal struggles was my fear of speaking English. It took years of daily self-improvement—studying, practicing, failing, and trying again—to find my voice in a language that once silenced me.
When I moved to the U.S., I had to start all over again. Back in Thailand, I had a career I loved, a house, a car, family and a strong circle of friends. Coming to America meant leaving all of that behind. I felt lost—like I had given up everything familiar to step into the unknown.
Thankfully, my now-husband and his family were incredible in helping me integrate into American society. Their support, love, and patience helped me feel like I belonged and reminded me that I wasn’t starting over alone. That made all the difference.
It still took years of hard work, reinvention, and leaning into discomfort to finally find my footing again. But with their help—and my own determination—I was able to rebuild, find community, and eventually build a meaningful career.
And then came motherhood—a beautiful blessing, but also a profound responsibility. I want to lead by example for my two boys. I want them to know that anything is possible. That you can’t always control what life brings your way, but you can control how you respond. I challenge myself every day to live that truth—to show them that resilience, kindness, and mindset matter most.
Lately, I’ve even found myself excited when challenges come my way—because I now see them as opportunities for growth. I truly believe that we either win or we learn, and every obstacle makes me stronger. Challenges no longer scare me; they shape me.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the co-founder of Infinite Secure Life Insurance Agency, a woman- and immigrant-owned financial firm focused on empowering individuals and families—especially within underrepresented communities—with the tools to build long-term security and wealth.
We specialize in life insurance, retirement planning, investment strategies, and business protection plans. But what truly sets us apart is how we do it. We don’t just sell policies—we educate, guide, and walk alongside our clients like trusted family. We take time to understand each person’s story, background, and financial goals so we can design personalized plans that actually work for them—not just on paper, but in real life.
Because of my own background—growing up with very little financial guidance, navigating life as an immigrant, and starting over from scratch—I know how overwhelming and confusing money can be. That’s why I built this agency: to make financial protection approachable, culturally sensitive, and empowering.
We’re proud to serve a wide range of clients, from working families to small business owners, in multiple languages including Thai, English, Mandarin, and Spanish. And we’ve been able to help so many achieve goals they never thought were possible—from building tax-free retirement income, to protecting legacies, to creating generational wealth for their children.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is our heart. We lead with integrity, transparency, and a deep desire to truly add value. Our motto is: “Integrity First, Client Foremost.” Every member of our team believes in that. It’s more than a business—it’s a mission.
Through ISL and my podcast Modtivational I’m able to serve, inspire, and uplift at the same time—and that’s what makes this work so fulfilling.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that your past doesn’t define your future—your mindset does. I used to think challenges is here it break me, but in truth it’s here to build me. I’ve learned that every obstacle I’ve faced was actually preparing me to live with deeper purpose and greater strength.
Over time, I’ve come to realize that my biggest fear isn’t failure—it’s regret. I never want to look back and wonder, What if I had tried? What if I had given more? That fear of regret pushes me to keep showing up, to take chances, and to grow even when it’s uncomfortable. Because trying and failing still moves you forward—but regret keeps you stuck.
That’s why I live life with intention, to become my best self. I give back to the community that helped me rise—volunteering as an emcee for Thai events, teaching financial literacy at women’s shelters, and proudly serving as Vice President of the Thammasat University Alumni Association of California. I’m also a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Thai Town, where I continue to wear many hats and push myself beyond comfort zones.
I’ve also learned to live with deep gratitude. Remember to appreciate everything you have—even the challenges. Always look on the bright side. Stay optimistic, no matter what you’re facing. Because someone else out there is facing worse. And every experience—good or bad—comes with a lesson. The hard times teach you resilience. The good times remind you what’s worth fighting for.
I live every day as if it could be my last—because we truly never know. I cherish my two sons deeply, and I want to leave behind a legacy that speaks louder than any title ever could. A legacy of impact—on my clients, my community, and my family.
