Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Davis.

Hi Jeremiah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory. 
Though this was written a while ago, I’d like to expand past my start. You can see the beginning of my journey explained pretty well here.

While on tour in 2017-2019, I hired a producer named Reese Hopper to help me bring the inbound work that was coming into life with the little time I had off in between tours. 

In 2020, we launched Us Versus Them Agency – a 5-person boutique creative production studio that delivers performance and brand marketing on the quality of big agencies but delivered in time frames the music industry operates on. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our biggest hurdle has been through our rapid growth. We used to win projects that bigger agencies couldn’t execute; whether it was too fast of a turnaround or the budget wasn’t enough for them, we would crush those. Now we find ourselves pitching for projects with proper timelines and budgets against larger staple agencies. The trick is when a brand sees a 40-year-old Sr. Director pitching against a couple of 30-year-olds, they feel safer handing their annual budget to the 40-year-old. I feel grateful to be in the ring with these guys, but damn, do I wish I had a 40-year seasoned veteran on our team. We are actually looking for one now. 

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Us Versus Them (UVT) has an insane pool of talent around the world that we have personal relationships and experience bringing creative campaigns to life for some of the biggest brands in the world. It’s our 5-person team based in Los Angeles getting to work every day and our global network that makes us have a seat at the table for brands trying to create awesome content that performs. 

Our core team and vendors specialize in working with A-list talent from Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Lil Yachty, Post Malone, Nyjah Huston, and many others in the action sports and fashion world. When a brand signs an ambassador and is trying to maximize the time they have with them, whether it’s a 3-hour shoot and you need a billboard campaign, social assets, or a larger campaign video, I believe we are the best option as a creative production partner, period. 

UVT is a team of professionals that choose to not work with bigger agencies because they care too much. Bigger agencies typically have a employees working on 3-6 different accounts at once. This doesn’t allow for you as an individual to actually sink your teeth in and make the clients project your project. It’s just a drop in the bucket. We are different in that way; every project we win is our Super Bowl, and we are out to elevate ourselves with every project. I don’t know why any brand would settle for anything less. 

I’m most proud of how happy our team is in this space. Turnover in the advertising world is fast. UVT has had core members working together for over 6 years, and we aren’t going anywhere. 

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
This year, UVT will be taking a risk by expanding our local operations by building another boutique team in Austin, Texas, in Q2. It feels like a risk because it’s new territory for us, but it also, in a way, feels incredibly right, and I don’t see how we can lose.
