Hi Jackie , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Southern California and grew up in a vibrant, mixed family. Being half-Mexican and half white allowed me to embrace the richness of both cultures. From an early age, I was drawn to the power of storytelling. Whether it was through theater arts and musical theater in high school or my involvement in student leadership and cultural activities like my sorority in college, I found joy in connecting with others, sharing ideas, and bringing stories to life.
As the first in my family to attend college, I carried a deep sense of purpose and determination. My passion for working with people led me to immerse myself in student government (ASB) in high school and later in my sorority (Delta Zeta) during college, where I built lasting friendships and honed my leadership skills. I ultimately chose communications as my career path, which blended creativity, strategy, and human connection in a natural way.
Over the last 10+ years, I have worked in different corporate environments, gaining experience and building my skills. But after a while, I realized I wanted something different, more freedom, more creativity, and a way to work on my own terms. So, I took a leap and started my own communications consulting business, “Jackie & Company.” It was both exciting and scary, but I knew I had the skills, the drive, and the vision to make it work. Now, I get to collaborate with amazing clients, help businesses tell their stories, and build something that’s truly my own.
Beyond my professional life, I’ve now fully embraced my passions and goals. I’m always been passionate about health and wellness and immersed myself back into hot yoga, long walks, and eating in a way that fuels me. I’m also really into building meaningful connections, which is what inspired me to start “Work Well Club,” networking group that prioritizes balance over burnout. It’s been so rewarding to bring like-minded professionals together and create a space where people can grow, support each other, and enjoy networking.
Right now, I’m focused on creating a life that feels good inside and out. Uncertainty is just part of the journey whether it’s in work, love, or personal growth, but I’ve learned to trust myself and keep moving forward. Every challenge has shaped me into who I am today: resilient, ambitious, and always looking for ways to uplift the people around me.
My story is still unfolding, but one thing’s for sure: I’m living it with purpose, passion, and the belief that the best is yet to come.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like anyone chasing their dreams, I’ve had my share of challenges. Navigating corporate life taught me a lot, but it also showed me that I wanted more flexibility and creative freedom. Taking the leap to start my own business wasn’t easy; there were moments of doubt, learning curves, and plenty of trial and error.
On top of that, balancing work, wellness, and personal life has been an ongoing journey. There were times when I pushed myself too hard or questioned if I was on the right path. But every challenge has helped me grow, and I’ve learned to trust myself, set boundaries, and build a career and lifestyle that truly align with what I want.
Through it all, I’ve stayed focused on what matters most: connecting with people, telling great stories, and creating a life that feels fulfilling. It hasn’t always been smooth, but I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything!

My business, Jackie & Company, is all about helping brands and businesses tell their stories in a way that feels authentic, engaging, and impactful. I specialize in communications strategy, content creation, and brand messaging, helping my clients clarify their voice, connect with their audience, and stand out in a crowded market.
What sets Jackie & Company apart is the personal touch. I take the time to understand each client’s unique story, goals, and vision, then craft messaging that truly resonates. Whether it’s refining a brand’s identity, creating compelling content, or developing a strategy that drives engagement, I’m all about making communications feel seamless and natural.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building something that reflects my values: collaboration, creativity, and connection. Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I’d say adaptability! Life and business are always changing, and being able to pivot, learn, and grow has been key to my success. Whether it was shifting from corporate to running my own business, figuring things out on the fly, or finding creative solutions for my clients, staying flexible has helped me navigate challenges with confidence.
I also think having a people-first mindset has been huge. I genuinely love connecting with others, building relationships, and helping people tell their stories in a way that feels true to them. At the end of the day, success isn’t just about what you achieve—it’s about how you show up, support others, and keep moving forward with passion and purpose!
I’d be remiss if I didn’t convey the importance of relationships in both work and life. Taking the time to create and nourish relationships can be game changing when you are seeking to build on your goals.
