Exploring Life & Business with Gia Sinatra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gia Sinatra.

Gia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my modeling journey after seeing Ashley Graham on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 2016.

I saw someone that looked like me in the media and it made me feel confident and beautiful. I wanted to be a part of the change in the industry and be the representation in the media that I needed when I was a little girl.

My passion for plus-size representation kept pushing me to model & ultimately inspired the creation of my clothing line, Gia IRL (Gia In Real Life). I started working on GIA/irl last year and I just officially launched this March.

GIA/irl is made for plus-size & curvy women sizes 12 and up.

We just recently expanded to a size 28 and we have more sizes coming soon! My goal is to have chic and sexy pieces with a great fit and quality fabrics. I want women to feel beautiful, sexy, and confident in their pieces.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Starting my clothing line & running the business has been the biggest challenge for me, but it has also been the most rewarding business I’ve ever had and it has taught me a lot.

Seeing the way that women feel in my clothes keeps pushing me every day.

We’ve been impressed with GIA/irl, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Currently, I’m loving listening to other women entrepreneur podcasts such as Life with Marianna & Everything is the Best with Pia Baroncini.

As far as apps go- planoly, lightroom, canvas, and splice are currently my go-to’s. They help me stay organized for social media, posts, and editing content.
