Exploring Life & Business with Fred Parker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fred Parker.

Fred Parker

Hi Fred, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started as an independent massage therapist doing outcalls to Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. I also worked for mobile spa companies and staffing services that provided massage therapists to hotel spas. Over the years, several of my clients suggested I open my own spot. Towards the end of 2022, I started exploring those options with a commitment to staying in the area and with my hopes to be on Ventura Blvd. My father, also named Fred Parker, was also a massage therapist back in my hometown of San Antonio with his own practice. I started meditating with him when I was 16. I am honored to follow in his footsteps and share the gift we practiced together with this community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being patient was a big challenge throughout this process. It’s also been a good lesson to take one step at a time and do what you can while you wait for the process to unfold. I have to give a lot of time and attention to the creation of the space and developing the operations. Opening a Wellness Studio has been a good reminder to stay balanced as much as possible and walk the walk of doing it with hope and love in my heart.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We recently opened our doors to providing massage and meditation in Studio City this past summer. We offer a holistic approach to well-being with not just massages but also sound baths, meditations, and breath work in our Himalayan Salt room. We are a small business built on providing a great service to the community. I believe you can tell the quality of work is evident in what we do. I’ve personally worked with every practitioner in the studio to know the quality of service they are providing. We love what we do, and we do it at a very reasonable cost.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
When we talk about a holistic approach to well-being, I mean Spiritual, Emotional, Physical, and Social. As important as regular massage is to one’s overall health and well-being (and it is very important), by itself it does not address all four of these dimensions.

I feel that being grounded with a sense of community is a critical and healthy factor in the strength of one’s well-being. At Fred Parker Wellness, we host classes and sessions that enable our guests to surround themselves and connect with like-minded individuals who can share their journey, even if they are on different paths and even if they are at different points. We are gratified to see our guests connecting with and creating relationships while attending sessions in an environment we have curated for just that purpose.

And, in the spirit of trying new things and expanding our horizons, we do our best to create an always-evolving mix of classes and sessions to allow our guests to experience a variety of offerings all under one roof. So, we hope to give our guests the option of joining the sessions they are most familiar with while also having the opportunity to try something new in a supportive environment.

Our studio was created as a sanctuary. It is meant to be quiet, supportive, calm, and conducive to introspection. Our practitioners are experienced and trained specialists in their respective fields. And how can you beat the chance to connect under the healing glow of our Himalayan Salt Wall?

At Fred Parker Wellness, we strive to provide a fully developed and multifaceted approach to wellness. So we hope to be a part of that journey with you.
