Today we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Ramos.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I like to think of ourselves as a big company doing small things on the day-to-day as well as a small company doing fantastic things for the greater good. We started in 2019 as a 10×10 square foot at a farmers market serving locally roasted coffee. Through the pandemic, we had to adjust whilst remaining strong, connecting our vision with a community that supported our cause. Our philosophy and our mission is always to help the world smile. All of our ingredients are connected to a traceable farm ; whether that be a coffee or not a coffee beverage. We believe in freshness, seasonality & noble connections. For example, one of the regions we feature, Santa Marta Guatemala, is coffee we are buying coffee directly from the Rodriguez family. The way we do business is not defined as the usual staple or outline. As we continue to move forward, we look ways to improve the livelihood of everyone around us.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Although we are searching for the opportune moment to build a cafe, predominantly, we work outdoors. We build a little tiny coffee shop in the 10×20 space and adapt to the environment our audience. Our biggest obstacle is the weather. We’re learning how to navigate through days of wind & rain or even a combination of those. However, it has been days like those that have really solidified us within our community. They know that we will always be there to provide warmth in a 12 oz beverage or refreshing experiences on those 90-plus Fahrenheit days. I like to think that struggles are what help us grow, without it we aren’t able to face the challenge of adaptability.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Myriad Coffee?
I have been working in coffee since 2005. I have been able to see businesses grow, businesses adapt and also unfortunately businesses close. The biggest question was not how to run a business but why to run a business. If the business is a formula, then we should be able to remove ourselves as owners from that equation and comprehend that the equation still makes sense and in turn that the answer is always positive. The business should not be filled with ego but with intentionality, ethical responsibility sustainability, and as well as respect, and perseverance for growth.
We roast coffee, brew coffee and use that as a catalyst for improving our day-to-day challenges.
As a small company, we like to get back to our communities or to those who help us grow as well. 10% of our Corazon blend goes to the Heartfelt Help Foundation, which assists people with the ability for heart transplant. We also donate a dollar of every bag sold from El Globito Guatemala to help kids from Santa Marta Guatemala receive dental care.
Coffee really does bring us all smiles!
