Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Benita Safaryans FABORM, DAOM, LAC.
Hi Dr. Benita, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely. My journey into East Asian Medicine began during my undergraduate years at UC San Diego, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology. I was always fascinated by the body’s innate intelligence and its capacity to heal, but it wasn’t until I explored Traditional Chinese Medicine that everything clicked — the physical, emotional, and energetic aspects of health were finally in harmony.
That discovery led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and I later earned a Doctorate with a clinical focus in Women’s Health and Infertility. Today, I’m proud to say I am the only physician in Glendale/Montrose who holds the distinction of being a Fellow of the Acupuncture Board of Reproductive Medicine (FABORM) — a credential that reflects my advanced training and specialization in fertility care.
I founded Peak Life Acupuncture INC with the mission of helping patients unlock their potential for healing through integrative, results-driven care. What started as a passion has grown into a thriving practice that supports individuals struggling with fertility challenges, chronic/acute pain, and hormonal imbalances — all with a personalized, root-cause approach.
This path has taught me that healing is not just about the absence of symptoms — it’s about alignment, vitality, and living life on your own terms.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has had its fair share of obstacles, but each one shaped me into a more grounded and capable physician.
Building a practice from the ground up, especially in a field that still sits outside the mainstream in many ways, takes grit. In the early years, I wore every hat — practitioner, marketer, administrator — all while continuing advanced training and managing a growing patient base.
Specializing in women’s health and fertility also comes with emotional weight. You’re walking with people through some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives — loss, uncertainty, frustration. I had to build the emotional capacity to hold space for others while also protecting my own energy.
And like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced financial ups and downs, lease issues, staff turnover, and the general pressure of being both a healer and a business owner.
But through all of it, I never lost sight of my mission: to create a space where patients feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal. Every challenge forced me to grow sharper in my strategy and deeper in my compassion — and I consider that a gift.
We’ve been impressed with Peak Life Acupuncture INC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My practice, Peak Life Acupuncture inc, is an integrative clinic specializing in fertility, pain management, and complex women’s health conditions. We support patients through every phase — from regulating cycles and addressing menstrual disorders to providing acupuncture support for IUI and IVF, as well as natural conception. Our focus is always on restoring balance and activating the body’s own healing potential.
What sets us apart is not only the level of care, but the level of expertise. I hold a Doctorate in Women’s Health and Infertility and am the only practitioner in my area who is a Fellow of the Acupuncture Board of Reproductive Medicine (FABORM). That means I’ve completed advanced training and passed rigorous board examinations specific to reproductive health — and patients come to us knowing they’re getting specialized, evidence-informed care.
At Peak Life Acupuncture INC, we don’t just treat symptoms. We look at the whole person — body, mind, and lifestyle — and build customized treatment plans that incorporate acupuncture, cupping therapy, moxibustion, herbal medicine, nutrition, and mind-body strategies rooted in the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
What I’m most proud of is that this isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” practice. Each patient receives personalized, thoughtful care. We’re known for being thorough, compassionate, and results-driven. Many of our patients come to us after years of being dismissed or overlooked — and they finally feel seen here.
At its core, services offered at Peak Life Acupuncture, INC is about restoration: restoring balance, restoring trust in the body, and restoring hope. Healing is possible, and we’re here to help people experience that truth for themselves.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about our city is the diversity — both in people and perspectives. It’s a place where wellness is evolving, and where more individuals are open to integrative and holistic approaches to health. I’ve had the privilege of working with patients from all walks of life, and I deeply appreciate how this city creates space for connection, growth, and community healing.
There’s also a certain resilience and drive that I see in the people here — many of my patients are navigating demanding careers, personal challenges, and still show up committed to their healing. That inspires me every day.
However, the cost of living and access to care can be real barriers. Too many people struggle to prioritize their health because they’re overwhelmed, overextended, or underserved. I’d love to see more equitable access to wellness services — and more support for small practices like mine that are doing the deep, hands-on work to fill that gap.
