Exploring Life & Business with Diana Nguyen of Madison / Savile

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Nguyen.

Hi Diana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story began in corporate finance and consulting — a world of structure, strategy, and transformation. I spent over 15 years working with large companies, helping teams navigate complex projects and change. While I learned so much in that world, a part of me always knew I wanted to build something that blended business with heart — something that inspired people beyond spreadsheets and processes.

That seed became Madison / Savile, a women’s contemporary fashion brand centered on wearable empowerment. I wanted to design clothing that not only fits your life but also your becoming. After years of wearing professional wear that didn’t reflect who I was — either too stiff, too uncomfortable, or missing meaning — I envisioned timeless, functional pieces that help women step into their power. That’s why every blazer is lined with words of affirmation — because I believe what you wear should remind you of who you are and who you’re becoming.

Madison / Savile has truly been an evolution — of me, of the women we serve, and of what it means to redefine confidence. From bootstrapping the brand to producing our first collection, to launching our successful Kickstarter campaign in March 2025 to bring our second collection, Believe It. Feel It. See It., to life — every step has been about resilience, purpose, and transformation.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all — but that’s what makes the journey meaningful.

When you start a brand from scratch, especially while consulting full-time, the road is rarely smooth. I’ve faced many challenges —COVID, tariff changes, fabric supply inconsistencies, scammed by vendors, trademark taken by another country, manufacturing changes, unexpected production delays and that’s just scratching the surface. It has been a very expensive journey or I’d like to call it MBA course. There were moments when entire shipments had to be redone because the quality wasn’t up to standard. Each time, I had to make the hard decision to delay rather than compromise on what we stand for — quality, integrity, and intention.

What I’ve learned is that entrepreneurship tests not just your business skills — it tests your patience, faith, and belief in your vision.

One of my guiding mantras, and now stitched inside of our Madison./ Savile blazers is:

“Believe it. Feel it. See it.”

It’s a reminder that transformation begins within. Even in uncertainty, you have to believe it before you see it.

Those challenges built my resilience. They taught me that building something with meaning isn’t supposed to be easy — but it’s worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Madison / Savile?
Madison / Savile is a modern women’s workwear brand rooted in purpose and transformation. We create tailored pieces — blazers, vests, French-cuff shirts, skirts, and trousers — that merge luxury craftsmanship with function and meaning.

We’re known for our affirmation-lined blazers — timeless pieces that combine five functional pockets, stretch, and a beautifully tailored silhouette with intentional details that whisper encouragement from the inside out. Our fabrics are custom-woven with stretch and softness to move with the modern woman — whether she’s leading a board meeting, building her dream, or reinventing herself. Each blazer has 5 functional pockets for all of your essentials.

What sets us apart is that we design from the inside out — both literally and metaphorically. Every piece begins with purpose. Our clothes are meant to empower women through life’s transitions, in their becoming— to help them believe it, feel it, and see it.

I’m most proud that Madison / Savile has grown authentically and with heart. We’ve never chased trends — we’ve stayed true to our mission: to awaken the greatness inside every woman.

I’m proud of the community that’s grown around us — women who share their stories of putting on one of our blazers before a major milestone: a promotion, a pitch, or even a personal reinvention. I’m proud that we’ve built a product that carries meaning — that’s functional, timeless, and deeply personal.

We are here to awaken the greatness inside you.
To remind you of your power, resilience, and beauty in becoming.
Fashion is our medium. Empowerment is our message.

What I want readers to know is that Madison / Savile isn’t just clothing — it’s a movement. Each piece is a reminder that your story, your journey, and your transformation are worth celebrating.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’ve come to see luck as preparation meeting purpose. There’s “bad luck” — like when tariffs suddenly changed or fabrics arrived damaged — and “good luck,” like the people, mentors, and opportunities that showed up exactly when I needed them.

But looking back, I realize both kinds of luck were necessary. The challenges redirected me toward better partnerships. The delays pushed me to slow down and refine. The surprises made me more resourceful, grounded, and intentional.

Every twist and turn has shaped the brand — and me — into something stronger. At the end of the day, I don’t believe in coincidence. I believe in alignment — and when you stay rooted in purpose, even setbacks become part of your becoming.
