Today we’d like to introduce you to Darlene Trevino.
Hi Darlene, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in the San Fernando Valley as a ward of the court, I faced numerous challenges, but those experiences fueled my determination to create a better life for myself and my family. Attending City College was a pivotal moment that opened doors I never knew existed. Starting my career as an insurance adjuster, I advanced to become a case manager and then a managing attorney, all while cultivating my passion for justice. In 2020, I realized a dream by opening Trevino Law Firm, where I strive to serve and uplift my community. As a mother of three, I understand the importance of family, and it motivates me to give back and connect with others. In my journey, I’ve learned that perseverance and compassion are powerful tools. Balancing my career, family, and community involvement is not always easy. Still, it’s a rewarding endeavor that reminds me that with hard work, hope, and a commitment to helping others, we can turn our trials into triumphs.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Growing up as a Latina, a first-generation immigrant, and a woman, I faced numerous challenges that could have easily defined me as just another statistic. With little to no resources at my disposal, I encountered obstacles that seemed insurmountable. However, what could have broken my spirit instead ignited a fire within me. Each setback became a lesson, teaching me resilience and strength I never knew I possessed. I learned to harness my identity as a source of power, turning adversity into fuel for my dreams. My journey is a testament to the idea that our struggles do not dictate our future; instead, they pave the way for transformation. With determination and unwavering belief in myself, I have risen above my circumstances, proving that from the depths of challenge, we can emerge stronger and more empowered than ever.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Trevino Law Firm?
As an attorney, I see my role as a commitment to both legal excellence and community responsibility. As a member of the Board of Trustees for the College of the Canyons, I have the opportunity to play an active role in shaping the future of education in the Santa Clarita Valley—an opportunity I cherish and take seriously. Beyond my professional duties, I find joy in my family, whether we’re enjoying walks, learning how to golf, or cheering on my kids during their baseball and softball games. These moments reinforce my conviction that true success is about achieving balance and fostering meaningful connections. At Trevino Law Firm, where we have secured over $30 million in settlements, we treat every client with respect and dignity, ensuring their unique stories are heard and honored. My passion for helping others extends into the community, where I proudly sponsor events like the Home Tour Fashion Show for the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation and support organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club and the Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Through my journey, I strive to be a beacon of hope and change, proving that with dedication and a genuine desire to give back, we can all make a profound impact on the lives of those around us.
