Hi Cynthia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been in online publishing for over a decade, working with some of the nation’s most respected brands and publications along the way. I have a passion for sharing business’s stories and being a resource for readers. I launched Fabulous California, an online lifestyle magazine, in 2020 as the fifth Fabulous Media Group market. Starting in 2010 with Fabulous Arizona, Fabulous Media Group focuses on highlighting the best of each market, featuring restaurants, resorts, events, and people.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growing Fabulous California has been more difficult than our Arizona market because of the sheer size of the state. There is so much to cover, and we have tried to find a balance of highlighting all areas of the state. California is a thriving market with so much to showcase, it has been an incredible journey learning about all of the fabulous places and people that make this state great.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Fabulous Media Group started with Fabulous Arizona in 2010. I have been working in online publishing since 2007 and love local businesses and my community. So, I created FabulousArizona.com and grew that for nearly a decade before finally launching my second market, Wisconsin, in 2018. Wisconsin was received so well by the community there that I knew I had something, and in 2020, I started growing my team and expanding to other markets. What sets Fabulous Media Group apart is our team of passionate individuals who love what they do and love serving our readers and the businesses we feature. While I am very proud of the digital magazines we have built, I am even more proud of our incredible team. They embody the passion I built this business on, and I couldn’t do what I do without them.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I think I was always destined to be in publishing. As a child, I created newsletters and “magazines” for my family using crayons and paper. I then went on to be the editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper.
