Exploring Life & Business with Colleen Monroy of Vogue & Farm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colleen Monroy.

Hi Colleen, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
While the brand Vogue & Farm is relatively new, I’ve been a professional photographer for over six years. As a kid, I loved taking photos and always had some kind of camera in my hands. It wasn’t until I was in my mid-20s that I decided to pursue this love as a career. To say it’s been life-changing would be an understatement. The brand Vogue & Farm is all about celebrating all of life’s little moments for my clients. No event is too small to capture. That’s how we create our legacy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest obstacle I’ve had to overcome was learning to ignore the imposter syndrome. Yes, anyone can take a photo, but that’s not all I do. My goal with every session is to leave my clients feeling happy and loved because they are. I love each and every one of my clients and love the fact that I get to be a part of their lives.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Vogue & Farm?
Vogue & Farm is exactly its namesake – a little vogue and a little farm. Whether it’s a luxe wedding in the city or a downhome session at the family farm, I specialize in creating a legacy for my clients through my work. We only get to live this life once and photos are the only thing that stands the test of time. What sets me apart from other photographers is my client experience. My clients become family and always have someone cheering them on through every season of their lives, big or small.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
After a challenging last few years, I think people realized just how precious our memories really are. Life changes in the blink of an eye and sometimes all we have left are photos (and videos). I see people investing back into themselves more than anything. Investing more into their families and friends.
