Today we’d like to introduce you to Babak Azizzadeh, MD.
Hi Dr. Azizzadeh, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I immigrated to the United States at the age of 10 and moved to Los Angeles. I did the majority of my education at UCLA, including undergraduate, medical school, and residency. I finished my training at Harvard Medical School in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Afterward, I started my practice at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills. I decided to become a facial plastic surgeon because it allows me to help change people’s lives with an artistic and creative approach. It is a unique specialty that blends art, science, engineering, compassion, and empathy. I love what I do because I work with people of different ages and backgrounds. At my practice, we do facelifts on adults, rhinoplasties on teenagers, and facial reanimations on patients ages 4 to 80.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There were some challenges during my initial years in the United States. Thankfully, I had the support from a wonderful family and have developed deep friendships along my journey. I have since been able to overcome most of those initial struggles. My biggest struggle now is maintaining a balance between my clinical practice and family life. Both are important to me, and I want to give 100% to both. As a result, I decided to develop a more boutique practice. That way, I can pay close attention to my patients at a high level and be present for my family.

I specialize in facial rejuvenation, which includes facelifts, neck lifts, and eyelid surgery. In addition, I perform rhinoplasties and treat patients suffering from facial paralysis conditions. I also performed advanced rhinoplasty procedures and have pioneered techniques that help patients smile more symmetrically. My practice is known for its excellence, state-of-the-art care, and compassionate staff. We believe in upholding the highest standards and empathy when taking care of our patients. It is a priority of ours that we treat patients one at a time and perform very advanced surgeries that give the best possible outcome.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The most important quality for my success is my ability to listen to and develop meaningful relationships with my patients. My innate artistic ability, technical skills, and compassionate nature have also helped my success. Paying attention to my patient’s concerns is critical to getting the best outcome.
