Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Murrey.
Hi Ashley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story started back in college. I initially started out in culinary arts. I thought that I wanted to be a chef but realized shortly after taking a few special event classes that this might be a better path for me. In 2013, I was married to the man of my dreams. Our wedding was everything that I had dreamed of. We were on a very tight budget and so we had to do all planning ourselves. I truly had so much fun and found passion in planning my own wedding. I took a few years off and had two beautiful children. It wasn’t till 2018 after having my 2nd child that I decided to start my own business. I always had that entrepreneur mindset and wanted to be my own boss. That’s when Poppy Rose Events was born. My company is named after my two sweet daughters Shanley and Ellanore. My oldest daughter Shanley’s middle name is Rose, and Ellanore’s birth flower is a poppy. They are my everything, so it only made sense to name it after them.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There have defiantly been many ups and downs. I have always had an amazing support system that have pushed me and let me know I can do this. As most people, I took a hard hit with the pandemic. I felt that my business was really starting to take off, then Covid-19 happen. On the bright side, we are still here, healthy and standing tall. Weddings are back and we are socking up all the love.

My name is Ashley Murrey. I’m the owner of Poppy Rose Events. I plan all types of events and specialize in weddings. I am known for my go getter personality and hard work. I feel that my work ethic and eye for style set me apart from others. What I am most proud of with my brand is that I am the one and only person that has made all of this happen.
