Hi Ashley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Dr. Ashley built her practice from a deep commitment to compassionate, culturally attuned mental health care, shaped by her passion for helping people heal from the inside out. Her own upbringing, where money meant both safety and silence, taught her the emotional weight of finances, a burden she carried even as a therapist. When she realized that financial struggles were rooted not in mismanagement but in unregulated emotions, she created Conversations With A Clinician and the Marry Your Money™ philosophy to help others build healthier, more honest relationships with their finances.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Dr. Ashley faced early challenges growing up in a home where money brought both stability and unspoken emotional stress, teaching her to carry financial anxiety alone. Even as a therapist, she struggled with exhaustion and stress-driven habits until she recognized that her financial difficulties stemmed from unregulated emotions rather than poor budgeting. Confronting these patterns while building her practice from the ground up ultimately shaped the compassionate, emotionally grounded work she does today.
