Exploring Life & Business with Antonio Reveles of Reveles Enterprises

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Reveles.

Hi Antonio, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My business journey began shortly after being laid off from my full-time job. With no job or a savings to fall back on, it was time to put my love for design to use. I began by posting inspo photos and my own at-home DIY projects in hopes that I would attract potential clients. Although I did not receive any inquiries after consistently posting and promoting my services for three months, I still had hope that soon I would land my first project.

Bills began to pile up and I began to worry about how I would be able to afford my cost of living. I spent many days sneaking into my dad’s closet where he stored a jar full of quarters. I began to collect quarters from his jar so that I could pay for my bills and be able to afford gas in my car. Many weeks went by, and I continued on the same path, no work, no money, and a pile of past-due bills. My journey got to the point that I began to receive letters in the mail from debt collectors. I then knew that I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life, which was to file for bankruptcy in order to be able to afford my essential expenses. Mentally, this part of my journey was extremely hard for me, but I reminded myself that this was part of the journey and that I would soon make it out.

With a positive attitude in mind, I continued marketing my business both on social media and in person by passing out business cards. After consistently marketing my business, I landed my first project as a closet organizer. I will never forget how much this project meant to me. Financially, it was the biggest blessing that I could have asked for. My client and I built a relationship that quickly grew into a friendship. I will forever be grateful for the doors this client opened for me. She became my biggest support system during such a strong hardship in my career. After opening up to her about my financial struggles and love and passion for design, she offered me more projects in her home. A closet organizing project turned into a full house organizing project. Not only was she extremely supportive in helping me grow my business, but she also offered me many ideas that served as a mentorship in my business.

With a lot of photos to choose from to grow my portfolio, I began to receive a numerous amount of inquires in request for organizing projects. Some organizing projects led into full interior design projects, which was a huge turning point in my career. I knew that moving forward my business would continue to grow. After completing many interior design projects, and receiving positive feedback from my work, clients began to request that I do events for them. It all goes back to my first client; she saw potential in me that I didn’t see in myself. I remember her telling me, “Antonio, I know you’re capable of so much more!” With a demand for work, I didn’t have time to second guess my decision but to throw myself into these new business ventures. After completing my first event, the amount of love and feedback that I received grew into a surge for new clients. My interior design business shortly grew into a design firm where I began to offer services in interior design, landscape design, and event design.

Fast forward two years from the start of my career, I now run a 6-figure design firm where I employ multiple employees and I work with some of the top celebrities in the Latino industry. My journey to get here has not been easy but I am extremely grateful for the circumstances I had to encounter to get here. I can definitely say that my journey made me! I think if there’s any advice that I can give someone going through the same situation, it is to stay consistent! The journey will not be easy but in order to get through the storm, you must walk through the rain.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has definitely not been smooth, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! My journey truthfully changed me for the better, which I will forever be grateful for. I’ve had to overcome some of the biggest fears not only in my life but also in my career, which I believe I wouldn’t have overcome if I didn’t face those hardships.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Reveles Enterprises is a one-stop business for all things design, where we offer services in Interior, Exterior, and Event Design. I am the Founder and CEO of the business where I specialize in seeing all client relations & creative processes. I have gained a reputation in the Latino industry for my work in event design. I have planned and designed multiple events for celebrities in the industry, which has allowed me to be published on multiple latin magazines and live tv programs. I am most proud of being able to build a design firm from the bottom up. It has truthfully been my biggest accomplishment!

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The thing that matters most to me is being able to stay humble and grounded. Although my life has changed for the better, I never forget where I started and who helped me on the way here. My journey has been such a humbling experience and I carry that proudly on my chest. If I lose it all tomorrow, I can say I never changed.
