Hi Anthony, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Losing passion for your work is a difficult and frustrating experience. At the same time, it’s a wake-up call to try something new. I was always into men’s jewelry but was intimidated by the high price point. I thought to myself, “does it really have to cost that much?” After doing my research into the cost of materials and manufacturing, I realized that most jewelry business just have an exorbitant markup.
I knew that there was a demand for high-quality, affordable jewelry, and I decided that I wanted to fill that gap in the market. I started by researching different types of materials, and I quickly realized that 925 sterling silver was the perfect choice. It was durable, versatile, and shiny, making it the ideal material for the jewelry I wanted to create.
I spent months designing and refining our first collection, and in September 2022 we were finally ready to launch our online store. I was nervous, but I was also excited to share my passion with the world. The response was overwhelmingly positive. People loved the designs and the affordable prices, and business quickly took off.
I am proud of what I have accomplished, but I could not have done it without the help and support of others. I started Shiro Studio myself but was able to receive help from many of my friends along the way. I am grateful for my partner Kevin Kim, he’s the amazing creative director behind our content and UIUX designer for our website.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every business venture has its challenges and obstacles, and starting an online jewelry business is no exception. It can be difficult to find a reliable and trustworthy supplier who can provide high-quality products at an affordable price. This is especially challenging for a new business owner who has no established relationship in the business. It took months to find our supplier, but the wait was worth it.
Designing the jewelry is also very challenging, each piece you see on our shop had at least 3 renditions made. It’ll never look perfect the first time.
There will always be delays and unexpected problems. Its just part of the business.
