Exploring Life & Business with Annelie De Fazio of Serenity Hot Yoga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annelie De Fazio.

Hi Annelie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My love for movement and healing has been a guiding force throughout my life. Teaching yoga allows me to share the transformative benefits of the practice while holding space for others to explore healing and self-discovery. Through yoga I hope to offer a nurturing environment where each student can connect more deeply within themselves – body, mind and spirit.

My background includes working as a registered nurse, dancing professionally in an Afro-Contemporary Dance Company and acting in theatre and films.

Born in Sweden, my journey took me to Italy in pursuit to dance, and eventually to LA in 1998 – where I found yoga, or perhaps yoga found me. Owning my Yoga Studio and teaching is now my way to offer space for others to reconnect, breathe, and listen to their own unfolding journey.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Challenges and setbacks have been pivotal in my personal and professional growth. They’ve provided valuable opportunities for self-reflection, resilience and deeper self awareness. These experiences not only shaped who I am today but also enhanced my ability to lead with empathy and connect with others more authentically. I trust that each challenge is a divine invitation to awaken.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a boutique yoga studio located in Santa Clarita, California. We are a community-based studio and we welcome everyone – beginners and seasoned Yogis alike.

We offer a variety of classes 7 days a week. Our heated classes include Hatha, Vinyasa flow, Yoga Sculpt and Pilates. Our non-heated classes are gentle alignment based classes with deep stretching. We also offer Restorative yoga, Yin Yoga and more.

Our goal is to provide a space where everyone can connect with their inner selves and explore their full potential for happiness and healing within.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a mentor often requires stepping beyond our comfort zone. It’s in those unfamiliar, sometimes vulnerable spaces that we open ourselves to growth and sometimes we encounter the right person who sees our potential and helps us rise.

As studio owners in the area, we’ve built a collaborative network where we support one another. Having a circle of peers to turn to when questions arise has been invaluable – not just for problem-solving but for shared growth. This kind of networking goes beyond professional benefit; it creates a sense of community and connection.

It’s essential to have a solid dependable software system with immediate support available when issues arise. Trust is a key – and knowing when to delegate ensures things keep moving smoothly and efficiently.

I am lucky to have a collective of teachers rooted in trust, connection and purpose. Through open communication and wholehearted support, we create a space where our team thrives – and so do our students. By staying present, authentic, and relatable, we foster meaningful dialogue and guide others on their path with integrity and care.
