Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Won.

Hi Alexandria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I struggled with acne, which sparked an early interest in beauty and skincare. That interest only deepened as I got older and began dealing with issues like hyperpigmentation and melasma. These personal experiences made me realize how much skin health can affect not just how we look, but how we feel (mentally and emotionally.)

Wanting to turn my passion into purpose, I entered the industry to help others navigate the overwhelming amount of skincare information out there. Along the way, I gained hands-on experience working in both a holistic spa and a medical spa. That balance gave me a well-rounded understanding of skin health- from natural, gentle approaches to results-driven treatments.

In 2024, I took a leap of faith and opened my own business. My mission is to create a space where people feel confident, cared for, and empowered through education and customized care. I know firsthand how transformative it can be to feel good in your skin, and I’m passionate about helping others experience that too!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been a deeply rewarding one. Before stepping into the beauty industry, I earned my bachelor’s degree and was working a traditional 9–5 job within the fashion industry. On paper, it seemed like everything I had worked toward. But deep down, I felt unfulfilled. I remember praying and asking God for clarity, for a sign that I was meant for something more. When I finally took a leap of faith and shifted paths, the signs began to show up everywhere. Since then, I’ve been constantly reminded that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be!

The transition wasn’t easy. Shifting careers, going back to school, and starting over in a new industry came with its own set of challenges. But through it all, I’ve had moments that affirmed my purpose. Clients who became friends, and powerful conversations in the treatment room that have transformed me in ways I’m still discovering. While it hasn’t been smooth, every step (even the tough ones) has led me to where I’m meant to be. For that, I’m incredibly grateful!!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about skin by alex?
Skin by Alex specializes in personalized, results-driven facials—but it’s so much more than just skincare. Because of my passion for the beauty industry as a whole, I’ve also incorporated lash lifts and brow laminations into my service menu. Every offering is intentionally curated to help clients feel confident, radiant, and empowered.

What truly sets Skin by Alex apart is the experience I bring and the way I approach each client, as a whole person, not just a skin type. I’ve had the privilege of working in both holistic and medical spa settings, which has given me a unique, well-rounded perspective. I’m able to blend advanced, science-backed techniques with a more intuitive, nurturing touch. It’s not just about what products I use or how technically sound the treatments are, it’s also about how someone feels walking out of the room.

Clients often tell me they leave feeling lighter, not just physically but emotionally too. That’s what I’m most proud of. I’ve created a space where people feel safe, seen, and supported, where their skin goals are heard, and where self-care is truly honored. We have a doormat that says ‘come as guests, leave as friends’, I truly believe that.

If there’s one thing I’d love readers to know, it’s that Skin by Alex is built on heart, integrity, and real human connection. Whether it’s through customized facials, lash lifts, or brow treatments, my goal is always the same: to help people feel more confident in their skin.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I truly believe that no dream is built alone, and I’ve been so blessed to have an incredible support system throughout this journey. My parents have been my biggest cheerleaders, standing by me with unwavering love and support through every uncertain decision and leap of faith.

My mom and my boyfriend, Shawn, were with me during the very beginning stages. Literally helping me paint the walls until 3AM some days, transforming an empty space into something meaningful and beautiful. That kind of love and belief in me is something I’ll never take for granted.

My friends have been my emotional anchors, always lifting me up, sharing my wins, and reminding me of my strength on the harder days. And of course, my clients—every single one of them play a role in my growth. Their trust, loyalty, and the energy they bring into the treatment room fuel everything I do. They’ve not only supported my business, but they’ve also affirmed my purpose. This is bigger than skin, it’s about connection, genuine relationships, and powerful conversations.
