Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandro Becerra.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Los Angeles (south central) to 2 immigrant parents Epifanio and Hermelinda Becerra who did their very best to provide for their 3 kids Jose Ventura, Mildred Ventura Soto, and myself Alejandro E. Becerra. At 20 years old I moved to Modesto, Ca where I started barbering. Eventually, I moved back home to Los Angeles in 2018. I worked at a barber shop for 2 years then I opened Elite Barber Studio in Feb of 2020 in a small 120-square-foot space. I managed to push through the pandemic successfully. In 2022 after successfully saving up enough money to fund a bigger barbershop I moved to a bigger location and opened up a 6-chair barbershop in the Hollywood area. 6051 Hollywood Blvd #204, Los Angeles, CA 90028 to be exact. It’s been quite the journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles include moving around trying to find a place to live. When you’re trying to save up for a business all your money has to be saved and you have to be willing to sacrifice having a car, having an apartment, and other basic necessities. It has really been a struggle, but I managed to accomplish it in a little over 4 years. It definitely has not been a smooth road.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Yes within the next five years, I’m going to open up a healthy green juice pressing store. That’s the next venture I plan to accomplish. The sky is the limit. With hard work, gratitude, dedication, and grit anything is possible.
