Exploring Life & Business with Aila Rose of The Love Gurus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aila Rose.

Hi Aila, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m Aila and alongside my partner Jonathan, we are known as The Love Gurus. We never set out to be teachers of love, it feels more true to say that love chose us. We came together deeply in love, and quickly discovered that love will also bring up everything that isn’t: the triggers, the wounds, the patterns, the shadows… all of it surfaced in the mirror of each other.

Instead of running, we leaned in. We turned to ancient practices of connection, created rituals, and developed tools to help us grow through those patterns. Over time, these became the foundation of the work we share. We now guide individuals, couples, and families to break old patterns, heal what’s in the way, and experience the joy of living and loving from the heart.

Even our name carries meaning. One night I woke up with the words “The Love Gurus.” At first, we laughed. It felt bold, even audacious. But “guru” simply means one who dispells darkness, and that felt true to our path: facing our shadow and bringing them into the light, so we can help others do the same. We don’t claim to have all the answers, we see ourselves as devoted students of love, sharing what we learn along the way.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No. It hasn’t been a smooth road. We’ve been initiated into some very difficult lessons in our love. Our relationship itself has been the crucible, with many cycles of rupture and repair, moments where we wondered if we could keep going, and moments of deep transformation. Often, when we stepped through one of these portals of death and rebirth, we’d get a call from a client facing the exact same thing. It always felt divinely guided, as if the universe was saying “walk it first, then you can guide others through it.”

For the past three years, we’ve been fortunate to work closely with a Balinese High Priest and Priestesses who help us clear our energy. One of them always reminds us that when difficulties come, to smile into our hearts and remember, it’s a test. This is part of the path. And each time we step through it, we come out with more humility, more compassion, and more devotion to this work.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At the heart of our work, we help people transform their relationships, whether that’s with themselves, their partners, their families, or with life itself. We call ourselves relationship alchemists because we specialize in taking the raw material of conflict, pain, or disconnection and turning it into connection, intimacy, and love.

We work with individuals, couples, and families through a methodology we created called Bridging, which combines somatic practices, communication tools, and ritual. Our clients often come to us at breaking points. Painful moments of mistrust, disconnection, or crisis. What sets us apart is that we don’t just sit and nod our heads, we walk through the fire with them, and guide them back into themselves for the answers they’ve been desperately seeking. We believe that you are your own best guide, and once you know how to connect with your inner wisdom, everything changes.

We’re most proud of the way our brand reflects the full spectrum of love. We’ve created offerings for every kind of relationship. Our new course, Secrets of Your Cycle, helps women return to reverence for their bodies and their cycles, with a special section to help partners understand and connect during this sacred time. Our soon-to-be-released Cards for Families, Cards for Lovers, and Cards for Friends are designed to spark deeper conversations and bring people closer together. And we’re also working on our full-length documentary What is Love?, a global exploration of the experience of love.

Each offering is born from our own journey. We leverage real tools, rituals, and wisdom we’ve used in our lives that we now share with others.

We, ultimately, want you to know that love isn’t something you find outside of yourself. It’s something you awaken to within.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to us is understanding the deeper meaning of love. We truly believe that the way back to love is the answer to the world’s biggest challenges. At the root of so much hurt, conflict, and division is disconnection. When we forget our shared humanity and begin to see each other as enemies, things go way off course.

We often see it in the microcosm of relationships. The slow disconnect that breeds mistrust, resentment, and apathy. But when people learn to come back to love, within themselves first and then sharing with another, everything shifts.

Healing yourself doesn’t just change your relationship, it ripples outward, healing your family, your community, and the world around you. That’s why we do what we do.
