Today we’d like to introduce you to Abby Mason.
Hi Abby, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always been passionate about health and wellness. As a mom to four daughters, my life’s goal has been to guide them to become the best version of themselves. I grew up in a home where locally grown and minimally processed food sources were a priority. That inspired me to continue this way of eating throughout my life. I could see how much more energy I had, how my skin positively responded, and how I could focus better and feel better overall. I spent almost ten years in Real Estate in my early 20s. I poured my heart into it, but my soul was suffering. It was a very stressful career. After my second daughter was born, I decided to walk away from Real Estate and become a stay-at-home mom. I spent the years caring for my growing family and researching nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset for longevity. When my youngest daughter started first grade, I decided to take my curiosity about wellness and turn it into a career. I am a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach, AADP Board Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Advanced Skin Sequencing Practitioner, Certified Nutritional Aesthetics Practitioner, and Author. As a graduate of the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy and the Institute for Integration Nutrition, I understand the importance of finding the root cause of a health concern and how to use Positive Psychology to work alongside my clients to help them reach their goals.
As the owner of Passionate Wellness, I coach my clients to understand how to have flawless skin bio-individually through nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset. My focus has been on hormone imbalance and digestive and absorption issues to uncover the root causes of skin concerns. Knowing the root cause provides a roadmap for radiant, healthy skin and a robust immune system. I also offer custom skincare programs with formulations based on a client’s ancestry.com and toolboxgenomics.com results. In addition, I am the founder of Rain4est Essentials Skin Care®, a natural and organic skincare line of products.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been an everchanging road that has provided a journey of personal and professional growth. I have dedicated hours to discover the best way to reach my ideal clients and niche market. I have had the privilege to work alongside a Chiropractor and Functional Medicine practitioner. I found that coaching on my own in private practice was the ideal situation. Some of the struggles I have faced is how to properly market my offerings and services while efficiently managing my time coaching my clients. I had experienced burnout while working as a Realtor in the past. I want to ensure that I do not go down that same path. Organizing and prioritizing my time has helped me focus and continue to keep my passion as a Health Coach functioning optimally.
We’ve been impressed with Passionate Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created my business, Passionate Wellness, out of my “passion” for longevity. Through years of research, I discovered that it was not a “one size fits all” approach to one’s health. I also found that wellness is more than the food you consume. I applied what I had learned to the lives of my family. I started seeing results in my daughter’s energy, skin, sleep and focus as we prioritized movement, food sources, relationships, and stress management/self-care. Seeing their positive transition lit me up, and I wanted to share this information with my friends. I decided to make a career of helping people learn how to live their best life.
I specialize in working with women ages 35-55 on how to age timelessly from the inside out and outside in. What sets me apart from other Health Coaches is my focus on skin wellness. Many people suffer from skin issues/sensitivities, as did I in my early 20s. Understanding that it is not just what you put on your skin but also what you consume and what your body absorbs that affect your skin. Your skin is a window to what is going on inside the body. Paying attention to what your skin is showing you can be a guide to improving your skin quality and assist with healing what might be out of balance on the inside.
I am most proud of the clean and natural line of skincare that I have formulated (Rain4est Essentials). I love how my skin looks and feels using the products. Along with my Health Coaching services, I offer custom skincare formulations based on a client’s Toolbox Genomics and Ancestory results. The Toolbox Genomics results show me what my client needs more nutritionally. The Ancestry results show me where a client’s ancestors grew up. I find plant resources for ingredients that are high in the nutrients a client needs and are endemic to where their ancestors came from and where the client grew up. These blends create skincare products full of ingredients that support their unique body for beautiful and radiant skin.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Many of my clients have tried every fad diet and skincare product for their skin condition. It seems to work for a while and then it fails them. I work with my clients to create behavior change through small sustainable steps. The definition of success for me is being the resource in a client’s life that helped them finally achieve their goals.
