Exploring Life & Business with Shontay of Wut-A-Pickle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shontay.

Hi Shontay, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Started my pickle business four years ago after making, eating and posting the pickle that I made. Someone asked where I got the pickle from and I said me! From that day after brainstorming, coming up with a business name “Wut-A-Pickle” we have been in business. Now four years later, we have a storefront location and a food truck. Stepping out on faith has been the biggest blessing in starting the business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No smooth road at all! Not knowing anything about a food business came with its struggles. I had to research and learn everything I needed to start, stay in business and open up a pickle restaurant.

We’ve been impressed with Wut-A-Pickle, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wut-A-Pickle provides “Delicious Pickles with a Kick” we are a flavored pickle business that sells a variety of flavored pickles. We have been in business for four years and is the first of its kind to be in business and open a pickle storefront location in the Southern California area. Growing up in Compton, California I ate a pickles almost everyday before school and to be able to an actual pickle company that I put my heart into is a dream come true!
