Today we’d like to introduce you to Renay Thomas.
Hi Renay, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Whew Chile, where do I start… When I was about 19 or 20 my sister and I came up with this idea to open a clothing store that would have a day/night theme. When you walked in the store, it would be bright on one side of the store with all your daywear, work attire, brunch, etc. Then on the other side of the store, it would be dark with red or blue lights and this side would have your sexy lingerie and nightwear. Well, that Idea came and went. However, 10+ years later I was sitting in a clubhouse room when the idea resurfaced. I was in this clubhouse room talking with a few other ladies about self-love and confidence. I shared my story how as a teen, I was always seen as the tall skinny girl who was overlooked by boys (especially the ones I liked) and my confidence was at an all-time low. It was not until a few years back that I gained my confidence (but I still have my days). But, I believe God put this business back in the front of my mind for a reason.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With us being in a pandemic for the past year this road has been interesting, to say the least. Most of my struggles have come from not being able to host Sip N Shops or have fittings with models to get sizing right and things of that nature. However, I have found a way to pivot and I feel things will get better as long as I stay consistent. Nothing in life comes easy and I live by that saying.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

We believe lingerie isn’t about seduction or looking good for someone else. It’s about owning your sexy and celebrating your body at every stage. Other lingerie brands make women feel like they don’t fit the mold of a perfect lingerie body. Forever Yanè is here to fill that gap. Our mission is to empower and celebrate the woman’s body with body-positive, inclusive lingerie. Our bodies are always changing as we fluctuate in weight, shape, and size. At Forever Yanè, we embrace the body you live in as it changes, grows, and transforms with you. There aren’t enough empowering messages for women who don’t fit the mainstream standard of a ‘lingerie body’. It’s time for women to know lingerie is meant for them. We are changing the idea of “the perfect mold” for a lingerie body and celebrating their perfectly molded body.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Entrepreneurship is hard. You go into it expecting sales to just start pouring in, but that is not always the case. There may be days where sales are flowing and then there may be weeks where you get zero sales. But, I had to remember and keep reminding myself that consistency is KEY. Progress is A Slow Process
