Exploring Life & Business with Moti Gamburd of Raya’s Paradise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moti Gamburd.

Raya’s Paradise Residential Care Communities was established in 1991 by mother Raya Gamburd. The first building was and still is located at 825 Larrabee St West Hollywood, CA 90069. Raya was a geriatric Nurse. She immigrated from Soviet Union to Israel and from Israel to USA and had to start her life from the beginning twice.

Raya’s Paradise operates eight buildings now and plans to grow to a multi-state operator of high-end Residential Care Communities that caters to Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. Our latest addition is coming in 2021 in South Orange County in San Clemente. More details about our operation could be found at www.rayasparadise.com.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It sure was not a smooth road. Red tape, competition, licensing, labor codes, legal issues, entitlement issues, state of California is the most creative state to come up with the most ridiculous obstacles for businesses which makes it the worst state to open a new business. We had many issues with entitlement which drove the cost up tremendously. Due to these facts, We have decided not to conduct any more new businesses in the State of California and started to venture out to other states that are more business-friendly like Florida.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Raya’s Paradise Residential Care Communities is a licensed facility that provides care and services to the elderly ages 62 and above. We provide “Assisted Living” and “Memory Care” services to our residents. We are considered a high-end service-oriented communities with a very special living arrangement (aka Boutique style) where we have a very high ratio of staff to residents, very homelike accommodations, all of our buildings are well maintained inside and out. Our culinary team has an extensive knowledge on senior guidelines and the service is what we pride ourselves. Raya’s Paradise has been featured in the Inc. 5000 as the fastest-growing company. Providing the ultimate possible qualify of care to our residents is our goal and mission and that is how we came up with our slogan “A tradition of quality care”.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
When I go to a restaurant, hotel, bar or anywhere where I am to get service, I want to have an experience, an experience to remember and that is what we are offering at Raya’s Paradise. An experience to remember and enjoy.
