We’re looking forward to introducing you to Elyn Kazarian. Check out our conversation below.
Elyn, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
For me, integrity is the foundation of everything. Intelligence and energy are incredible assets, but without integrity they can lose their impact. Integrity shapes how you show up, how you treat people, and how you move through the world when no one is watching. It keeps you grounded when things get difficult and keeps your work honest when opportunities arise. I value people who keep their word, who follow through, and who care about doing the right thing even when it is not the easiest choice. That kind of character lasts longer than talent and it creates trust, which is everything in both life and career.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Elyn, a creative director and visual artist from Los Angeles, and I’ve spent the last eleven years building visual worlds that make people feel something. I come from a design and storytelling background, so my work lives at the intersection of clarity, emotion, and big ideas. I’ve created campaigns and visuals for artists and brands of all sizes, from global names to people who are just starting to find their voice. What matters to me is the intention behind the work and whether it has heart.
I’m hands-on with everything I do. I can be writing a treatment one day, producing a shoot the next, or shaping a full visual identity from the ground up. I’ve led creative for companies like RCA Records, Parkwood Entertainment, and for artists like Blink-182, and dvsn. What I am known for is listening. I take the time to understand the people I am creating for, and I build systems and stories that feel true to them across every medium.
Outside of client work, I’m the creator, host and executive producer of Her Vision Her Voice, a radio show on dublab dedicated to women in music and film. I also serve on the Executive Board of Women in Visuals and mentor through She Is The Music and Femme It Forward. My goal in everything I touch is simple: I want to make work that resonates, creates space for others, and reminds people of the power art has to shift culture.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom saw me long before I understood who I was becoming. She recognized my creativity before I had the language for it and she treated it as something worth protecting. She encouraged every sketch, every idea, every moment I took something apart just to understand how it worked. Even when life felt unstable or uncertain, she made me feel like my imagination mattered. That early belief shaped everything for me. It taught me to trust my instincts, to lead with empathy, and to build a life around the things that feel true to me.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to soften a little. You don’t have to carry everything alone or prove your worth every second of the day. You are doing the best you can with what you have and that is enough. The pressure you put on yourself comes from love and wanting to do right by the people around you, but you deserve grace too. You are allowed to grow, make mistakes, and take your time. You are already becoming someone you can be proud of.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I believe there is something bigger holding all of us together. I can’t name it or prove it, but I’ve always felt it. I’m not religious, but I’m deeply spiritual, and I’ve never been able to shake the sense that we are connected in ways we don’t fully understand. The moments of intuition, timing, or quiet clarity that show up when you need them most feel too meaningful to be random. I think there is a greater energy at play, something that moves through people, places, and experiences and ties them together. I don’t need proof to trust it. I feel it, and that has always been enough.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I absolutely could. Praise has never been the thing that drives me. What matters to me is making work that has a lasting impact, work that feels true and thoughtful and meaningful. I care about the intention behind what I create and the way it affects people. If I know I gave something my best and it added something meaningful to the world, that is enough for me.
