Daily Inspiration: Meet Wynton Nama

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wynton Nama

Hi Wynton, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Wynton J. Nama, and I am a 19-year-old U.S. Marine, commentator, and social media influencer. Over the past few years, I have dedicated my time to civic engagement, public service, and advocating for law enforcement. Now, I find myself at the center of a political firestorm after speaking my mind while in uniform—something that the military clearly doesn’t tolerate when the opinions expressed go against the establishment.

Despite the pressure, I refuse to be silenced. In fact, I am doubling down. I am preparing to launch a YouTube channel and an account on X (formerly Twitter) to further engage in civic and cultural discussions, exposing the hypocrisy and double standards within the ranks of the U.S. military.

My Journey: From Youth Activism to the Marine Corps

I have always believed in the power of civic engagement. At just 15 years old, I became actively involved in political activism and youth leadership, working on campaigns at the local, state, and national levels. My ability to engage young voters led to my appointment as chapter president of a national student organization focused on civic engagement. Later, I became chairman of a Texas-based youth leadership group, further solidifying my role as an advocate for young voices in political discourse.

But my commitment to service extended beyond politics. I knew that freedom isn’t just debated—it must be defended. That’s why I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, determined to serve my country with honor. After enduring three months of intense Marine Corps Recruit Training, I moved on to Infantry Combat Training, reinforcing my discipline, leadership skills, and commitment to the principles that make America great.

However, what I quickly realized was that the very institution that claims to defend freedom is also one of the biggest suppressors of it.

The Controversy: My Fight for Free Speech in Uniform

Recently, I went viral for criticizing President Joe Biden while in uniform during a live broadcast on Instagram. Within hours, the military came down on me hard, launching an investigation and threatening me with non-judicial punishment (NJP) or even a full court-martial.

Their weapon of choice? Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ)—a regulation that punishes service members for failing to obey an order or regulation. While the military claims this is about “good order and discipline,” the truth is that Article 92 is increasingly used to silence those who challenge authority, expose corruption, or call out hypocrisy within the ranks.

I am not the first to face this kind of persecution, and I won’t be the last. The military is full of brave service members who want to speak out but are terrified of the consequences. Most junior enlisted, and even many senior enlisted and officers, are afraid to challenge wrongful orders or call out leadership failures because they know the UCMJ will be used against them.

Meanwhile, the double standards are glaring. Military leaders can openly support certain political movements and get away with it. Progressive activism is tolerated, even encouraged, but if a conservative service member speaks out, they are immediately punished.

Following the Footsteps of Warriors Who Spoke the Truth

I am not alone in this fight. Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller was relieved of command and imprisoned simply for demanding accountability after the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Lohmeier was removed from his post in the Space Force for exposing the spread of Marxist ideology in the military.

These men had everything to lose, yet they stood firm. They refused to bow down, and their courage cost them their careers. But they proved something that cannot be ignored—silence is complicity, and speaking out is an act of true leadership.

I am willing to take that risk.

My Next Mission: Building a Platform for Truth

Despite the pressure, I refuse to be silenced. In fact, I am doubling down. My Instagram account has already grown to over 150,000 followers, and I will soon be launching a YouTube channel and an account on X (formerly Twitter) to expand my influence and expose the truth.

Unlike many influencers who focus solely on entertainment, I bring something different—firsthand military experience, a deep understanding of civic issues, and the courage to challenge power.

I will engage, inform, and inspire—not just with military insight, but with cultural and political commentary that forces people to think. I want to give my generation a voice and remind them that no institution, not even the U.S. military, should be beyond accountability.

I Will Not Back Down

My mission is clear:

“Never settle, never fear questioning the status quo, resisting evil, or calling out power, even at great cost. Persecution may come, but one day, God will honor your sacrifice and bless your works.”

This is bigger than me. This is about every service member who has been silenced, every patriot who has been punished for speaking the truth, and every American who values real freedom.

I will continue fighting, continue speaking out, and continue standing up for what’s right—no matter what the military throws at me.

The fight is just beginning. I will not be silenced.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has not been without its challenges. When I made the decision to enlist in the Marine Corps, my family did not support me. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an outspoken political contributor, I’ve also found it difficult to connect with like-minded young people—those who think outside the box and refuse to conform to the status quo.

The absence of family support has been one of the hardest aspects of this path. Not having them present at my basic training graduation in San Diego, not being able to share my achievements with my mom or dad—it takes a mental toll. But through it all, I have relied on the lessons instilled in me: keep pushing forward, never give up. The challenges are great, but so are the rewards.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Professionally, I serve as a United States Marine, specializing as a Network Administrator (0631). My expertise lies in configuring servers, routers, and switches, managing network infrastructure, and ensuring seamless communication in both garrison and field environments. Whether it’s setting up internet access for buildings, providing critical connectivity for officers in the field, or troubleshooting complex network issues, I take pride in being a lethal communicator—ensuring that information flows efficiently where and when it’s needed most.

Beyond my military role, I have a deep passion for political operations, media, and meaningful conversations. I thrive on interviewing, engaging with people, and creating impactful content that sparks change. For me, it’s not about popularity or recognition—it’s about making a real difference. Seeing lives transformed through my work is the greatest reward. Critics may claim I do this for attention, but they couldn’t be more wrong. My mission is clear: to fight for what’s right, amplify important voices, and challenge the status quo.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned—and continue to learn—is the power of discipline and consistency. Success demands speed, precision, and staying ahead of the game. Life itself is a competition, a truth ingrained in me through my training as a Marine and reinforced in everyday life. Every night before bed, I ask myself:
• How will I serve God tomorrow?
• Whose life will I impact?
• How much will I earn?
• What story will I cover?
• Who will I collaborate with?

These questions keep me focused and fuel my drive to wake up ready to conquer the day.

But if discipline and consistency push me forward, patience is the lesson that keeps me grounded. Patience pays—it sounds cliché, but it’s true. God’s timing is always perfect. I remind myself daily: “What God wills, God does.” No matter how things unfold, His plan is always in my best interest.

Cut Out the Haters

Oh, and let’s not forget one crucial rule: get rid of the haters. The people who doubt your potential, mock your efforts, or encourage complacency have no place in your life. These are the same people who fear change, who want you to conform to the status quo, and who will be your biggest downfall if you let them.

Now, don’t get me wrong—I’m not saying to be arrogant or dismiss every piece of advice you receive. Listen to wisdom, analyze your decisions, and remain humble. But never entertain negativity from those who want to see you fail. Surround yourself with people who challenge, support, and push you toward greatness.

At the end of the day, success isn’t just about talent or luck—it’s about discipline, faith, and choosing the right people to have in your corner.
