Today we’d like to introduce you to Trousdale.
Trousdale, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The three of us met our freshman year of college. We were all studying music and naturally gravitated towards each other. Lauren is from Michigan and wanted to send her family a Christmas video to prove that she was still alive and well in LA. We covered the Rascal Flatts version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and something about our voices just clicked. We felt like we were meant to keep singing together and haven’t stopped since! Six years have passed and we’ve continued to explore our music and grow our bond as friends and bandmates. We’re so proud to have our first single “Happy Anymore” out, and can’t wait for our upcoming releases in 2021!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road worth traveling is ever smooth. We’ve had our obstacles, for sure, but overcoming them has made us stronger as a band. We took a break from Trousdale a couple of years ago and it really helped us define our vision for the group. We started singing together in college and were still very much in the middle of growing up. Learning how to communicate and make our relationship a priority has simultaneously made the band a priority.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your music and what you are most known for?
We’re most known for our vocal blend. We’ve become so familiar with each other’s voices and we have trouble differentiating who is singing what when we’re recording. We’re all songwriters in our own right and when we come together, something magical happens. We’re most proud of our friendship and how hard we’ve worked to keep it so strong. When we are transparent with each other, Trousdale soars. We’ve been compared to bands of sisters, like HAIM and Joseph. The fact that we are so close and aren’t sisters is something that always shocks people.
What matters most to you? Why?
Our friendship! Because all you need is love.
