Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Brazeal.
Hi Tori , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 9 years and a salon owner for 1.5 years! I graduated from The Academy for Salon Professionals in 2016 and worked at 2 different salons in Simi Valley where I grew up from 2016 – 2020. In 2020 during COVID I moved into a salon suite inside of Salon Republic Thousand Oaks where I met my now business partner, Cassidy! After 3 years in separate suites we decided to join forces and open Golden Hour Hair + Skin Studio in Westlake in October 2023!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a hairstylist during COVID was probably the hardest part of my career, but it also is the reason I went into a salon suite and met my business partner so I guess it all didn’t turn out so bad!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a hairstylist that specializes in Vivid colors, balayage, reds and coppers, as well as sew-in extensions! I have always been someone who doesn’t like to be like everyone else, which is what has always drawn me to vivid colors. I never fail to smile when seeing someone with bright rainbow hair. I love how creative I get to be with vivids and how bright and head turning the final looks can be! I have been specializing in sew-in extensions for 5 years now and love how versatile the service can be, from adding inches of length to adding a weft for fullness, I love how much confidence it can give someone. I also recently have realized how much of a niche reds and coopers can be and that most blonde specialists don’t enjoy doing them, send them my way ladies!!! I like to think I’m queen of the weird Barbie’s and want to make all the rainbow mermaid hair dreams come true. I’m really proud of how far I have come in my career and the fact I co-own a salon under the age of 30 is a big accomplishment I never dreamed of achieving.
What are your plans for the future?
As of now I look forward to continue to grow my career and find more clients looking for rainbow mermaid hair to have fun with and give them the hair of their dreams! I also plan to nurture and grow my salon so it can continue to be positive, fun, creative environment for all of our renters.
