Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiffany Robinson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Robinson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started out just randomly posting on my social media pages Facebook and Instagram. I would mostly talk about my morning tea, what some of the benefits were, why it may or may not be good for different symptoms others may deal with. I worked in mental health as a counselor for an after school program here in Virginia. I noticed that a lot of children were on medication for ADHD, ADD, depression. This isn’t unusual. But it seems as if it was the only option that was given. Most of the parents just knew thats what the physician advised them to do. Also most parents wasn’t really educated on their child’s diagnoses. Like diet changes, yoga, meditation practice. I’m a mother that has have two daughters with those diagnoses. So why not share what I do, how I educated myself on alternatives that will help my children. I wanted others that may be dealing or know someone that is going through similar situations to know what I know, even if it was a little bit of information. I felt it was what I needed to do. But it was my husband’s ideal of making it a business. I looked at him and was like who’s going to be tea from me? Lol…

So in 2017, we came up with the name The Tè Spot! “Tè” because it’s how the French or Italian pronounce Tea. Being that my husband is from New Orleans and my love for the city, we thought it would be perfect. “Spot” meaning a place where you’re able to let your mind escape, getting lost in the moment. Like nice breezy sunny days in California at the beach or early mornings on the front porch. I smile just thinking about days like that, it gives you peacefulness. But in all honesty, this path was already written long before I discovered my gift as a healer, Herbalism, home remedies, herbs, spices, roots and weeds are all medicine that is given to us by mother nature. Funny that I never actually thought of herbal remedies or the use of tea would become a business for my family and I. I just love tea, herbs and of course different spices. The aroma, the taste, the way your mind escapes into a place of peace and calmness. I definitely believe it’s self-care for the mind in a cup.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Omg, yes! We’re still a very young family business. My husband and our two youngest daughters help me out so much. My husband and I currently work full-time jobs. So we juggle. Work, home, children that are still in school and the business. Whoa… We vend at farmer’s markets, try our best to show up at big events for vending. We travel to events with our tent, serving up iced tea, hot tea, dry blends and more. We’re definitely are grateful for this journey. We’re constantly trying to drive people to our website. Because unfortunately, we don’t have a brick and mortar. Thats our biggest struggle, we can’t afford for me to stop working, so we do our best, so that is the reason for me reaching out to Destiny Muse when I heard about the Selfcare Studio. I wanted to be on the shelf there in my hometown of San Bernardino, California. Create a name there and wherever I can to help our business. Our dream is to open a business in California and one in New Orleans. I’m never going to say it will not happen. Just a little more time and we’ll definitely be in most people’s homes.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We’ll I work for a government job on the Medicare side, I assist members with the benefits plan. I’m a Reiki Master I have clients that are by appointment only. I love doing healing work, I believe that I touch most people just in conversations. I work from home, and with COVID19 and everyone ay home more than before. The members that I assist at work they’re older, some live alone and haven’t seen their kids nor grandchildren in over a year. They want someone to talk to. So I do my best to assure they have a smile when our call ends. I send reiki to them all.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Omg, I love everything about us Californians, how we talk, how we’re so laid back. We’re beautiful people. Our freedom to be who we are. Speak truth share love ❤

I don’t like the alarming rate of homelessness, I wish there was more that I could do besides provided food, clothing. I was homeless more than a few times in my younger life. So I definitely know how it feels. Although we lived in motels or from different families homes. It still was a struggle for us as children. Not having stability.
